    Abstract: A facsimile machine has a stacker to which printed pages are delivered, and a paper sensor that senses whether the stacker is empty. The facsimile machine clears an internal page count to zero when the stacker is empty, increments the page count as each printed page is delivered, suspends printing when the page count reaches a limit value, and resumes printing when the stacker is emptied. While printing is suspended, facsimile reception may continue in a memory mode.
