The furnace of the invention has an interior combustion type heating device arranged on fresh air passages upstream of points of connection to furnace interior circulating gas passages for heating passing fresh air. The combustion type heating device is a direct heating type, combustion type heating device for burning a fuel directly in an atmosphere of passing fresh air to be heated.

    Abstract: A mask for covering part of the surface of the material to be coated comprises an aluminum foil, and a film of a resin provided on one surface of the foil and having a high power of adhering to the foil and any film of paint formed on the resin film. The film of paint which is formed on the resin film when the paint applied to the material to be coated is baked in an oven does not peel off and contaminate the interior of the oven. No such paint film peels off and adheres to the coated surface of the coated product, either, but the mask ensures the improved quality of the coated surface.

    Abstract: A washing solution for a color-change washing which contains a medium-boiling and/or high-boiling true solvent having a boiling point of 100.degree. C. or more, and a color-change washing method using that washing solution. In rotary type electrostatic spray coating devices in which a non-aqueous dispersion paint and a titanium dioxide pigment-incorporated paint are used in combination, the washing solution and method are advantageously used as they remove contamination and clogging of the coating device and reduce fire hazards.

    Abstract: A system is disclosed for painting components of an automobile more efficiently and more economically. To achieve the efficient production of painted components, the painting system includes parallel input and output main transfer lines and a plurality of sub transfer lines which are located perpendicular to and between the parallel input and output main transfer lines.A plurality of input intersections are formed between the input main transfer line and the sub transfer lines, and a plurality of output intersections are formed between the output main transfer line and the sub transfer lines. Each sub transfer line includes a turntable within a painting booth which is located at a central portion of each sub transfer line and a painting device is located at the side of each turntable.Further, each sub transfer line includes at least an input side waiting position and at least an output side waiting position.
