Patent number: 6894436Abstract: In a drive method of a light-emitting display panel capable of emitting light in low luminance, the parasitic capacitances of the light-emitting elements disposed in the light-emitting display panel are precharged making use of a reverse bias voltage before they are lit. In this case, a reverse bias voltage created by a reverse bias voltage creation circuit or a peak current being precharged is controlled by selectively grounding control terminals based on dimmer control. In particular, when the light-emitting elements are emitted in low luminance, the reverse bias voltage is output in a low level, thereby the light-emitting elements are prevented from being precharged with an excessive voltage. The above arrangement can realize light emission control in low luminance.Type: GrantFiled: September 24, 2002Date of Patent: May 17, 2005Assignee: Tohoku Pioneer CorporationInventors: Masato Togashi, Daisuke Fujita, Koji Henmi, Naoki Yazawa, Gen Suzuki, Keisuke Moriya

Publication number: 20040124768Abstract: An organic EL structure body 2 is formed on a surface of a transparent substrate 1, and the EL structure body 2 is sealed by a metal airtight container 20. Circuit structure bodies such as an anode driver circuit 11 and a cathode driver circuit 12 are mounted on a part of the transparent substrate 1. These earth lines, for example, are commonly connected through conductors 21a and 21b. Therefore, the above-mentioned circuit structure bodies are mutually connected by the earth line of low impedance, so that an obstruction occurred in the EL display device under an earth line of high impedance can be suppressed.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 10, 2003Publication date: July 1, 2004Applicant: TOHOKU PIONEER CORPORATIONInventors: Gen Suzuki, Naoki Yazawa

Publication number: 20040056585Abstract: A transparent electrode layer, an organic EL layer, and a metallic electrode layer are stacked on top of each other in layers on the lower surface of a transparent substrate to form a planar light emitting element region in a light emitting device. A light beam which is emitted from the light emitting element region and incident on the transparent substrate is transmitted out from a display region as well as a light transmitting region formed near an edge of the transparent substrate. Thus, the light emitting device is enabled to facilitate fabrication and make an effective use of the entire surface of the transparent substrate as the light transmitting region.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 5, 2002Publication date: March 25, 2004Applicant: TOHOKU PIONEER CORPORATIONInventors: Gen Suzuki, Masatoshi Yamaki, Yoichi Munekata, Naoki Yazawa

Publication number: 20040012330Abstract: An organic electoroluminescent display device includes organic electroluminescent films, each containing organic electroluminescent materials and sandwiched by a pair of electrodes, each forming a plurality of light-emitting elements above a substrate. Each pixel of the display device is composed of two different colors light-emitting elements, and the chromaticity of each color is controlled by changing the concentration of organic electroluminescent materials or by adding foreign materials the reto. For example, if the chromaticity of the red light-emitting element is set to a value shifted toward green side, various colors including white can be produced by mixing this red with blue of the blue light-emitting element. Then, the organic electroluminescent display device can produce high-quality quasi-color images by mixing two colors of which chromaticity values are properly controlled. By virtue of a two-color structure, the aperture ratio becomes high and the manufacturing process becomes simple.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 17, 2003Publication date: January 22, 2004Applicant: Tohoku Pioneer CorporationInventors: Isamu Ohshita, Teruichi Watanabe, Gen Suzuki, Kunizo Ogoshi, Teruo Tohma

Publication number: 20030043090Abstract: In an apparatus for driving a luminescent display panel, in a state in which scanning lines are sequentially scanned to drive and illuminate light-emitting elements, a voltage peak value arising in a scanning line in a non-scanning state is held by a capacitor through parasitic capacitance of the light-emitting element in a non-scanning state. On the basis of the voltage value held by the capacitor, a reverse bias voltage to be output from a reverse bias voltage generation circuit is controlled, and the voltage is supplied to the scanning lines.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 5, 2002Publication date: March 6, 2003Applicant: TOHOKU PIONEER CORPORATIONInventors: Naoki Yazawa, Koji Henmi, Gen Suzuki, Keisuke Moriya, Takeshi Okuyama

Patent number: 5736982Abstract: A plurality of terminals are connected to a server via a communication network and share a predetermined common virtual space. The terminals each send to the server the position coordinates of the viewing point and direction of eyes of its user in the virtual space, and the visual field image viewed from that viewing point is displayed on a display. Based on the position coordinates and direction of eyes of the avatar each of the other terminals received from each of the other terminals via the server, each terminal generates an avatar image in the specified direction and at the specified position and displays it in the visual field. The server is always supplied with the latest position information of the avatar from every terminal and, when the distance between two arbitrary avatars becomes smaller than a threshold value, connects speech channels of the two terminals corresponding to these avatars.Type: GrantFiled: August 1, 1995Date of Patent: April 7, 1998Assignee: Nippon Telegraph and Telephone CorporationInventors: Gen Suzuki, Shohei Sugawara, Hiroya Tanigawa, Machio Moriuchi, Yoshio Nagashima, Yasuhiro Nakajima, Hiroyuki Arita, Yumi Murakami
