The sensing device further including a second sensor of a second type that may be different from the first type. The second sensor may use the first conductive element as a conductive element in the second sensor.

Abstract: A force sensing device may include a plate and a sensor plate. The sensor plate may be a first surface coupled to the plate and a second surface opposite the first surface. The sensor plate may also include an actuation structure coupled to the second surface and extending away from the second surface of the sensor plate. The force sensing device may further include a sensor aligned with the sensor plate such that a first force applied to the plate causes the actuation structure to directly contact and apply a second force to the sensor. The force sensing device may be used to determine a location, a magnitude, and/or an angle of the force applied on the plate.

Abstract: An oral rehabilitation device for rehabilitating the oral cavity of a user includes a device body, a first activating member, an upper-jaw member, a lower-jaw member, and a processing unit. The first activating member is disposed on an end of the device body. The upper-jaw member and the lower-jaw member are connected to the same end of the device body and are for contacting an upper jaw and lower jaw of the user, respectively. The processing unit is coupled to the first activating member and is used to control the first activating member to drive one of the upper-jaw member and the lower jaw member to open or close relative to the other of the upper-jaw member and the lower-jaw member, such that the upper jaw and the lower jaw can be rehabilitated. The present invention further discloses a medical treatment system to which the oral rehabilitation device is linked.

Abstract: A system for tracking an object associated with a mobile tag reader includes a first identification tag capable of providing a first set of location information associated with the first identification tag. The system also includes a second identification tag capable of providing a second set of location information associated with the first identification tag. In addition, the system includes a controller capable of correlating the first set of location information and the second set of location information to predict a current location of the object.

Abstract: A diagnostic concentrator includes a first interface that is capable of receiving a signal sent from a field device to a process controller. The signal includes a primary process variable and additional information. The diagnostic concentrator also includes a controller that is capable of generating a message corresponding to the received additional information and a second interface that is capable of transmitting the generated message. The first interface may be a HART interface. The second interface may be a wireless interface or a network interface. The message may be transmitted to a diagnostic monitor or a process controller. The first interface may receive a plurality of signals sent from a plurality of field devices to the process controller. The controller may generate a plurality of messages corresponding to the plurality of additional information in the signals and transmit the messages via the second interface.

Abstract: Methods, devices and systems for integrating multiple communication systems including multiple wireless communication protocols into a single system are discussed. In an illustrative example, a communication system includes a device adapted to communicate via first and second wireless communication protocols. The system may further include local area network or other wired sub-network, with the device adapted for first and second protocols also being adapted to operate using the local area network or other wired sub-network.

Abstract: Methods and devices for operating a wireless network including redundant communication. Methods involving redundantly connected nodes are discussed including addressing methods and/or methods of creating groups for such redundant communication. The use of primary and secondary redundant connections is discussed. The inclusion of a redundant network in association with a non-redundant network such as a Zigbee® protocol network is discussed. Also, devices for implementing such methods are described.
