  • Patent number: 5154093
Abstract: The present invention relates to an apparatus comprising a cable, a sheath disposed around a portion of the cable, an inner member attached to the sheath, an outer member disposed around at least a portion of the inner member. The inner member and the outer member are formed to allow stepwise longitudinal adjustment of the inner and the outer members and to allow rotational movement between the inner and the outer members.

  • Patent number: 5039138
Abstract: A cable joining assembly (20) for easily joining push-pull and torsional cables by a hand assembly operation and without the use of tools is disclosed as comprising a first conduit section (22) and a second conduit section (26). First and second slide wires (24, 28) are relatively movable within respective first and second conduit sections (22, 24). A snap-together mechanism (30) joins the sectins as the relative movement of the first and second slide wires (24, 28) is affixed with respect to the first and second conduits (22, 26) respectively and by joining the first and second conduit sections (22, 24) simultaneously connecting the first and second slide wires (24, 28). Unfixing the relative movement of the slide wires (24, 28) with respect to the conduits (22, 26) allows the slide wires (24, 28) to be movable together and transmit forces thereby within the formed composite conduit.

  • Patent number: 4697832
Abstract: A coupling for connecting hydraulic conduits includes a tube formed with multiple depressions that are angularly and axially mutually spaced on the surface of the tube, a spring latch having a corresponding pattern of multiple protrusions adapted to fit within the depression of the tube, a connector body permanently mechanically connected to one of the hydraulic conduits defining a recess into which is fitted an O-ring, and a bar adapted to be locked on the spring latch. The O-ring provides a hydraulic seal between the conduits. The latch includes an inclined surface with which the bar makes contact and by means of which the latch is deflected as the conduits are forced axially together. When the bar clears the apex of the inclined surface, it becomes locked within a recess on the upper surface of the latch preventing axial disconnection of the conduits.

  • Patent number: 4487437
Abstract: A quick-connect coupling for connecting and hydraulically sealing two tubes that carry fluid has a spring member fixed to the end of one tube and a latch member having inclined surfaces formed at the end of the second tube. The second tube is fitted over the first tube and is inserted within the spring element allowing the element to be resiliently deflected on the inclined surfaces as the second tube is moved axially toward the first tube during assembly. The spring member applies a force to the second inclined surface that tends to force the second tube toward the first tube and the spring member into contact with a locking surface on the latch member.
