  • Patent number: 6073789
Abstract: A portable thermal container such as a thermoelectric cooler is provided with a reversible door. The housing includes first and second pairs of opposed walls which form a generally rectangular opening. Each of the walls of one of the pairs is provided with a socket adjacent each of the walls on the other pairs to form two pairs of opposed sockets. The door includes a pair of pivot pins which are removably inserted in one of the pairs of sockets. The pivoting direction of the door can be reversed by inserting the pivot pins in the other pair of sockets. The door is retained in a closed position by a magnet on the door and metal plates on the walls of one of the pairs.

  • Patent number: 4742851
Abstract: A faucet for a liquid container includes a tubular housing which is mounted in an opening in the container and a tubular valve which is slidably mounted in the housing. The tubular housing includes open front and rear ends, and the valve extends forwardly from the front end of the housing. The valve includes a dispensing opening, and the valve is movable between a closed position in which the dispensing opening is positioned rearwardly of the front end of the housing and an open position in which the dispensing opening is positioned forwardly of the front end of the housing. A first seal is mounted on the front end of the valve forwardly of the dispensing opening for sealingly engaging the front end of the housing when the valve is closed, and a second seal is mounted on the rear end of the valve for sealingly engaging the housing as the valve is opened until the dispensing opening is at least partially open.

  • Patent number: 4502715
Abstract: A latch assembly which releases when a predetermined force is applied to it includes a latch and a handle pivotally mounted on a closure member for pivoting movement about parallel axes. The handle includes a projection which extends into a groove in the latch, and the projection and groove lie generally along the line which joins the pivot axes. When the handle is pivoted, the projection pivots the latch. The latch includes a pivot portion, a latching portion, and a connecting portion which connects the latching portion to the pivot portion. The connecting portion is flexible and permits the latching portion to release if a predetermined force is applied to the latching portion.
