  • Patent number: 11372060
Abstract: A power distribution busway joint monitoring sensor assembly is provided. A first sensor is configured to measure a first position temperature and generate a first signal indicative of the first position temperature, wherein the first position is proximate to a busway joint. A second sensor is configured to measure a second position temperature and generate a second signal indicative of the second position temperature. A sensor controller is configured to i) receive the first signal and the second signal, ii) process the first signal and the second signal, and iii) generate a processed first signal and a processed second signal. A system controller is configured to receive the processed first signal and the processed second signal and generate an alert when a temperature differential between the first position temperature and the second position temperature is greater than a predetermined threshold temperature.

  • Publication number: 20200360617
Abstract: An injection system, including an injector having a dispensing mechanism configured to dispense a medicament, and a ready-to-use indicator. The ready-to-use indicator includes a controller configured to interact with the ready-to-use indicator and an audio and/or visual indicator, a temperature sensor, and a temperature analog having similar thermodynamic properties of the medicament. The temperature sensor is configured to detect a temperature of the temperature analog which represents the dynamic temperature of medicament as the medicament is heated or cooled. The temperature sensor is configured to communicate the detected temperature to the controller and to alert the controller when a preset temperature is reached. The ready-to-use indicator is configured to alert a user when the preset temperature is reached, signifying the medicament is thermally ready to be delivered by the dispensing mechanism. The audio and/or visual indicator is configured to display indicate one or more notifications to the user.

  • Publication number: 20200164151
Abstract: An injection assembly includes a housing with a barrel positioned within the housing. The barrel includes an axis extending from a proximal end to a distal end thereof and a chamber for storing medicine. An elongate anti-rotation shaft is rotationally fixed to the housing and has a non-circular cross-section. The injection assembly includes an inner screw having an inner screw opening to complementarily receive the anti-rotation shaft to prevent rotation of the inner screw with respect to the anti-rotation shaft but allow respective linear translation along the axis. An outer screw is positioned within, and rotatable with respect to, the housing and has an outer screw opening to threadably receive the inner screw, wherein rotation of the outer screw translates the inner screw along the axis and along the anti-rotation shaft. A plunger is coupled to the distal end of the inner screw and is moveable with respect to the chamber to push the medicine out of the chamber when the outer screw is rotated.

  • Publication number: 20160007915
Abstract: Adaptive performance trainer for guiding a user toward a psychophysiological state. In an embodiment, psychophysiological signal data is received from one or more sensors, and a current psychophysiological state of a user is determined based on the psychophysiological signal data. The current psychophysiological state is compared to one or more goal states, and one or more control signals are generated based on a difference between the current psychophysiological state and the one or more goal states. The control signal(s) cause one or more feedback devices to generate feedback to guide the user toward the one or more goal states. The feedback may comprise an indication to the user of the current psychophysiological state at a pace that replicates the user's heartbeat.

  • Patent number: 9175854
Abstract: A flameless lighter provides a user with a heat source that is similar to typical lighter. The flameless light comprises an enclosure, a slidable switch, a light assembly, a portable power supply, and a switch retraction mechanism. The enclosure is the primary structural component of the flameless lighter. The light assembly is used to produce the necessary heat to ignite items such as cigarettes and candle wicks. The slidable switch is used to activate and deactivate the light assembly and is used to protrude and retract a light bulb into and out of the enclosure. The portable power supply is used electrically power the light assembly and can be recharged through a universal serial bus charging port. The switch retraction mechanism defaults the slidable switch to the “OFF” position so that the flameless light is not left in the “ON” position. This improves the overall safety of the flameless light.

  • Patent number: 9173582
Abstract: Techniques for accelerating training through optimization of the psychophysiological state of the trainee are provided. These techniques include an adaptive performance training system configured to acquire, analyzed, display, and translate data that reflects the psychophysiological state of the user, including the electrical activity of the brain (EEG), the heart (EKG), the musculature (EMG), respiration and other parameters that characterize the state of the user in real-time. The system includes a plurality of feedback mechanisms for providing visual, auditory, and/or tactile feedback based on the current psychophysiological state of the user and for facilitating moving the user toward a goal psychophysiological state for performing a particular task and for optimizing performance of that task.

  • Patent number: 8932199
Abstract: Sleep mask for reducing sleep inertia. In an embodiment, the sleep mask comprises a foam layer having a shape that covers both of a human subject's eyes so as to attenuate ambient light. Visual stimulation element(s), configured to emit light, are positioned between the foam layer and the subject's eyes. In addition, a plurality of sensors positioned on the forehead of the subject collect electroencephalogram (EEG), electrooculogram (EOG), and electromyogram (EMG) signals. A soft exterior cover houses the foam layer, the visual stimulation element(s), and the sensors. The sleep mask further comprises processor(s) that determine and record each sleep stage of the subject, determine when to wake the subject, and, when it is determined to wake the subject, control the visual stimulation element(s) to wake the subject using emitted light.
