  • Patent number: 8307554
Abstract: A clippings catcher that attaches to a trimmer having a guard and motor driven reciprocating cutting blades for catching vegetation clippings regardless of the direction in which the trimmer is moved when cutting vegetation, and having a section of flexible fabric configured to result in a desired billowing of the fabric which enables an effective structure for catching vegetation clippings regardless of the direction in which the trimmer is moved while avoiding interference between the fabric and the blades of the trimmer.

  • Patent number: 6220447
Abstract: A variable frequency screening device consisting of a pair of spaced elongated side members, a flexible screen surface supported between the side members, a frame member supported between the side members and beneath a flexible screen surface, at least one striking frame shaft rotatably mounted between the elongated side members and beneath the flexible screening material, a striking frame mounted to the striking frame shaft, a second striking frame mounted to the striking frame shaft, and a motor to rotate the striking frame shaft which, in turn, causes the first and second striking frames to alternately strike the underside of the flexible screen material. The apparatus is equipped to permit the striking frames located on additional striking frame shafts to strike the screening material at independently selected amplitudes and frequencies.

  • Patent number: 5785461
Abstract: A wedge tensioning device for securing screen material to a screening system having a T-bolt with a threaded shank for receiving a nut threadably engaged therewith for adjustment toward and away from the frame. A pair of opposing wedges each having an elongated aperture through each wedge is provided. The T-bolt is passed through the elongated aperture of each wedge and is positioned between the frame and the nut. A spacer having an aperture therethrough is positioned between the wedges. The screen may be readily removed from the screening apparatus by driving the smaller end of one of the two wedges away from the bolt shank and out from its position to thereby loosen the tension on the screen material and permit it removal and replacement. To tension the screen material, the large end of one of the two wedges may be driven toward the shank of the bolt.

  • Patent number: 5456364
Abstract: A powered screening apparatus having a pair of spaced elongated side members, a screen surface supported between the side members, a frame member supported between the side members and beneath the screen surface, a first hammer mounted to the side members beneath the screen surface, a second hammer mounted to the frame member, a first vibrator attached to one of the side members and the second hammer and a second vibrator attached to the other side member and the second hammer. The apparatus is equipped to permit the side members to vibrate independently of each other.

  • Patent number: 5397002
Abstract: A vibrating screen apparatus having a pair of side members, a screen surface supported between the side members, a pair of frame members supported between the side members and beneath the screen, a first hammer to vibrate the screen, a second hammer that alternately vibrates the screen with the first hammer and a motor to impart motion to the hammers and frame members. The screen apparatus is provided with a method to selectively tension the screen surface. The apparatus is equipped to permit varying the frequency and amplitude of the hammers and screen material. The apparatus is equipped with only a single motor on each screen section to provide economy in use.

  • Patent number: 4819886
Abstract: A rotary hammer mill for breaking stone, gravel and similar material to achieve a desired size reduction. The mill includes a plurality of hammerheads rotatably supported in a housing for rotation in a substantially horizontal plane to define a substantially horizontally disposed annular breaking zone. The hammerheads are rotatably driven at a breaking speed sufficient to cause the hammerheads to reduce material impacting against the hammerheads in the breaking zone. Material is introduced down into the breaking zone in an annular pattern so that the feed of material into the breaking zone is annularly distributed rather than concentrated at a single feed location.
