  • Patent number: 5207345
Abstract: A device is disclosed which provides an airtight seal for buckets and other containers not previously having a removable, easily resealable lid. The device consists of an adapter and a lid which is threaded into the adapter. The adapter is formed to drape over the rim of the container. A seal is located between the adapter and the rim and provides an airtight seal when compressed. The adapter is held in engagement with the container by a ridge which engages a lip on the rim of the container. The lid includes threads which engage threads in the adapter and a second seal is located between the adapter and the lid providing an airtight seal when compressed. In one embodiment, the lid drapes over the adapter and prevents the adapter from being disengaged from the bucket by preventing the adapter form deforming sufficiently to disengage from the rim.

  • Patent number: 5163909
Abstract: A compressed gas actuated, portable fluid delivery system including separate disposable components which provides multiple, precisely rate controlled administration of medical fluids to patients. A pressurization housing includes a holder for a liquid gas cylinder, a mechanism for piercing the cylinder and connecting the cylinder output in a sealed relationship to an output tube through pressure regulators and a pressure gauge. The pressurization housing includes a safety latch interconnected to a pressure on-off valve for preventing opening the housing while pressurized. The output tube leads to a pressure chamber in which a flexible bag containing a fluid to be delivered may be placed. Pressure within the chamber squeezes the bag, forcing fluid through a fluid output tube to, in seriatim, a particulate filter, a binary flow control valve assembly, an air eliminating filter and finally to a fitting adapted to connect to an administration device such as a hypodermic needle, nasal tube or the like.

  • Patent number: 4903832
Abstract: A system for cleanly storing and disposing of discarded and potentially contaminated articles comprises a disposable receptacle of specialized design and a selectively operable mount for securing the receptacle to a support while in use. The receptacle prior to assembly and deployment on the mount is a unitary nestable sequence of interconnected panels including a rear panel having a back wall, two side walls and a floor extending between the side walls at an acute angle to the back wall to form an open-topped reservoir for trapping fluid from discarded articles. Pivotably mounted to the floor of the rear panel is a face panel which folds into an opposing relationship with the back wall of the rear panel and, by mating with the edges of the side walls, forms above the reservoir an enclosure accessible through an opening formed between the top of the face panel and the top of the back wall.

  • Patent number: 4637545
Abstract: A waste management system, including, a module forming a hollow cover having an open base and with the module including a passageway for receiving medical waste from the exterior to the interior. A disposable container is received within the open base of the module to have the container enclosed by the module. The module is locked in position on a wall mount which fully encloses the disposable container. A key plate is provided for disposition between the locking wall mount and the module to unlock the module from the wall mount and with the key plate locked across the open base of the module in substitution of the wall mount. A cart houses a large waste box and includes an opening into the interior of the cart for providing access to the waste box. The cart includes a cover structure disposed around the opening in the cart and with the cover structure including a cover plate over the opening.
