  • Patent number: 6405726
Abstract: A manually manipulated resuscitation mask, which includes a flexible barrier for providing a sealing contact with a face of a victim in a region adjacent to a victim's mouth. The flexible barrier has an opening therethrough to cooperate with the victim'2 mouth. The opening in the sheet us comprised of an integrally connected, flexible sleeve, extending away from the flexible sheet and the victim's face. The sleeve has an open end remote from where the sleeve is integrally connected to the flexible barrier sheet. The mask also includes a tubular member that has first and second end portions. The tubular member is positionable within the flexible sleeve and has the first end portion integrally secured to the open end of the flexible sleeve. The second end portion of the tubular member is located adjacent to the flexible barrier sheet when the tubular member is positioned within the sleeve.

  • Patent number: 5664559
Abstract: The invention is directed to a mouth-to-mouth manually manipulated resuscitation mask of the type having a one-way valve through which air is delivered from an operator's mouth to a victim's mouth and lungs through the valve. The resuscitation mask includes a first flexible barrier. The flexible material is capable of providing a sealing contact with a victim's face in a region adjacent the victims mouth. The flexible material has an opening for a one-way valve. A second flexible barrier in the form of a thin sheet of flexible material has an opening the periphery of which is secured to the first flexible barrier and the valve to thereby provide a spatially separated region between the first and second barriers to thereby isolate the mouth and face of the operator from the area where the operator's fingers/hands make contact on the first flexible barrier.

  • Patent number: 5584288
Abstract: The invention is directed to a multi-stage mouth-to-mouth resuscitation valve in combination with a first valve to allow exhaled breath from a mouth of an operator to pass through the first valve to a mouth of a victim. The first valve is capable of assuming a position where exhaled breath of the victim can escape from the multi-stage resuscitation valve.A second valve is provided to ensure that exhaled breath of a victim which may leak by the first valve does not reach the mouth of the operator. The second valve is positioned between the first valve and the mouth of operator.

  • Patent number: 5295478
Abstract: A mouth-to-mask resuscitator which can be carried in a person's pocket consisting of an oronasal mask and a check valve which is inserted into the mask and allows a person to administer artificial ventilation to fill the victim's lung with air and to allow the victim to exhale air through an exit in the valve assembly away from the person administering the resuscitation. The mask is foldable into itself to form a cavity for storing the check valve which has inspiratory and exhalation air flow back pressures meeting ISO standards.
