Patent number: 11739275Abstract: Gasifiers, gasification systems, and methods for producing synthesis gas are disclosed. A gasifier can include a gasifier body. A feeder can be positioned to feed an organic material into the gasifier body. A pulse detonation burner can be located under or above the gasifier body and connected to the gasifier body to direct supersonic shockwaves upward into the gasifier body to heat the organic material and to form a jet spouted bed of the organic material or to operate as an entrained flow reactor. An outlet can be located at the gasifier body to allow removal of synthesis gas, residual ash, and other reaction products.Type: GrantFiled: October 14, 2022Date of Patent: August 29, 2023Inventor: Donald Gene Taylor

Patent number: 11661909Abstract: A rotary detonation rocket engine generator system can include an axial drive shaft operably coupleable to an electrical generator. At least one support arm is radially coupled to the axial drive shaft and has corresponding rotary detonation rocket engines. An air-fuel mixing chamber receives ambient air and fuel to form an air-fuel mixture and deliver the air-fuel mixture to an annular combustion chamber. At least one pulse detonation combustion chamber is in fluid communication with the annular combustion chamber to receive an oxidizer and fuel to form an oxidizer-fuel mixture. The at least one pulse detonation combustion chamber creates a detonation wave that travels along the at least one pulse detonation chamber to the annular combustion chamber and ignites the air-fuel mixture as the detonation wave travels around the annular combustion chamber to generate thrust force that causes rotation of the axial drive shaft to drive the electrical generator.Type: GrantFiled: July 9, 2021Date of Patent: May 30, 2023Inventor: Donald Gene Taylor

Publication number: 20200088060Abstract: A rotary detonation rocket engine generator system comprises an axial drive shaft coupled to an electrical generator, two support arms extending radially from the axial drive shaft, and two detonation rocket engines supported at by the support arms. In response to ignition and combustion of a fuel supplied to the detonation rocket engines, a thrust force from the detonation rocket engines causes rotation of the axial drive shaft to drive the electrical generator. Fuel (and optionally other fluids) can be supplied through channels of the axial drive shaft and the support arms to the detonation rocket engines. A housing can enclose the detonation rocket engines, the support arms, and a portion of the axial drive shaft, which can be oriented vertically. One or more support arms and associated detonation rocket engines can be incorporated into a particular assembly. A method of producing electricity with the generator system is provided.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 17, 2018Publication date: March 19, 2020Inventor: Donald Gene Taylor

Publication number: 20180002975Abstract: A garage door apparatus is described as having a one or more rotating panel. This rotating panel can also retract into the surrounding garage door structure to create an opening in the garage door. The panels may be rotated and/or retracted automatically by a user or as directed by monitoring software. A user may operate the apparatus through a specially programmed wireless communication device enabled with a user interface and coupled via a communications network. Alternatively, the user may choose to program the apparatus to react automatically based upon environmental inputs such as the detection of unsafe levels of Carbon Monoxide, excessive temperatures, or rain.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 30, 2016Publication date: January 4, 2018Inventors: Stephanie Taylor, Johnathan Taylor, Larry Gene Taylor, SR.
