Publication number: 20250160662Abstract: An imaging system for continuous blood pressure monitoring including determining pulse transit time using ballistocardiography and photoplethysmography is provided. Images received from the imaging system are analyzed to identify heartbeat related micromovements and changes in blood volume at capture points of the body. One or more capture points may have a patch that amplifies heartbeat related movements of the patient's skin beneath the patch. Some patches may include transparent optical filters. Images may be analyzed to identify changes in blood volume at specific capture points on the body using transdermal optical imaging. The micromovements and blood volume may be used to calculate pulse transit time between one or more capture points on the body. Blood pressure may be calculated using the pulse transit time.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 21, 2024Publication date: May 22, 2025Applicant: Welch Allyn, Inc.Inventors: WonKyung McSweeney, Danielle Endres, John A. Lane, David E. Quinn, Tyson B Whitaker, Gene Wolfe

Publication number: 20250131233Abstract: Systems and methods for modifying power consumption of a wearable device are provided. The systems and methods include an imaging device, a directional antenna, and a power transmission device in combination with a wearable device. The imaging device, antenna, and power transmission device are positioned and re-positioned so that the wearable device is in the center of the field of view of at least one of the imaging device, antenna, and power transmission device. The systems allow for a decrease in the gain of the wearable device, decreasing power usage. The system may also allow for remote charging of the wearable device.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 22, 2024Publication date: April 24, 2025Applicant: Welch Allyn, Inc.Inventors: John A. Lane, David E. Quinn, Tyson B. Whitaker, Gene Wolfe, WonKyung McSweeney

Publication number: 20250107714Abstract: This disclosure is directed toward systems and methods for monitoring patients in a clinical setting by using non-contact multimodal imaging. For example, based on receiving imaging data, a computing device may identify an object and a region of focus formed by the object. The computing device may then cause a sensor to capture first sensor data at a first time and second sensor data at a second time, wherein the sensor data is associated with the region of focus. Based on determining that a difference between the first sensor data and the second sensor data is greater than or equal to a threshold difference, the computing device may generate and send, to an additional computing device, an alert indicative of the second sensor data.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 10, 2024Publication date: April 3, 2025Inventors: John A. Lane, David E. Quinn, Tyson B. Whitaker, Gene Wolfe, WonKyung McSweeney

Publication number: 20230078329Abstract: According to the present disclosure, a method of monitoring a patient on an operating room table is provided. The method comprises receiving image data captured by at least one image capture device; and determining a position of the patient relative to the operating table in dependence on the image data. A corresponding system, computer program and non-transitory memory are also provided.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 11, 2022Publication date: March 16, 2023Inventors: Heinz-Hermann Dalbert, Gene Wolfe

Publication number: 20070297312Abstract: A long-term solution for document and information storage is based on the storage of an image of the actual document, rather than on binary coding. Associated with the storing of this image are readers and writers that allow reading/writing in numerous formats as well as the supplementing of the stored image with other data such as digital data, bar code(s), metadata, retrieval information, and the like. This human readable format has the capability of removing the need for interpreting devices, hardware and/or software for retrieval of the stored image(s).Type: ApplicationFiled: July 30, 2007Publication date: December 27, 2007Applicant: COMMUNICATION SYNERGY TECHNOLOGIES LLCInventors: Gene Wolfe, Seth Borg

Publication number: 20070225978Abstract: The systems and methods described herein allow dictation and associated routing and formatting information to be forwarded to a transcription system. The transcription system converts the information into a document. The additional information associated with the dictation is then applied to the document to ensure proper formatting, routing, or the like. The completed document is returned to the original dictator for review and proofing. Upon approval, the document is distributed via the transcription system in accordance with distribution information associated with the document.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 15, 2007Publication date: September 27, 2007Inventors: Gene Wolfe, Seth Borg

Publication number: 20070083487Abstract: Content, such as a document, in a native format and modality are acquired for preservation. A plurality of interfaces, specific to the type of content, receive the content to be preserved. The received content is indexed and preserved on a preservation media for an indefinite or predetermined amount of time. The media is specially selected such that preservation for an indefinite or predetermined amount of time is possible.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 13, 2006Publication date: April 12, 2007Inventors: Gene Wolfe, Seth Borg

Patent number: 6912487Abstract: A system and method provide a computer-based automated tool for quickly and efficiently designing utility stations. One example of such a utility station is a unit substation. The tool includes a database of user-selective predrawn symbols that are associated with a pre-defined and stored station template. Each of the respective symbols have associated therewith attributes that are computer recognizable as being attributes associated with the respective symbols, and may be combined into a list, when the symbols are selected for use with the station. The tool presents a graphical rendering of the symbols arranged on the station, after the respective symbols have been identified.Type: GrantFiled: April 7, 2000Date of Patent: June 28, 2005Assignee: Public Service Company of New MexicoInventors: Gathen Garcia, Gene Wolf, Chris Hickman
