The random orientation device includes a magnet, which is oriented parallel to the plane of the non-magnetic strip and generates a set of lines of magnetic field. Each set of lines of magnetic fields are associated with only one magnet and contain both forward and backward directional magnetic fields in a direction perpendicular to the travelling direction of the unfinished magnetic recording medium.
