  • Patent number: 12366656
Abstract: A headset includes a frame and a plurality of transducers positioned on the frame to transmit beams towards one or more portions of a face of a user of the headset. The plurality of transducers receive reflected beams from the one or more portions of the face and generate sensor data that varies in response to the received reflected beams. The headset also includes a controller configured to use a machine learning model to generate an estimate of an expression of the user using the sensor data.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 22, 2023
Date of Patent: July 22, 2025
    Assignee: Meta Platforms Technologies, LLC
Inventors: Anton Andreevich Shkel, Gengxi Lu, Doruk Senkal, Julio Isla Garcia

  • Publication number: 20240149077
Abstract: Retinal disease is responsible for many instances of vision impairment. Often, individuals with vision impaired due to retinal disease continue to have functioning retinal neurons. Thus, systems, methods, and devices to stimulate retinal neurons may restore sight for vision-impaired individuals. Systems, methods, and devices provided herein direct ultrasound energy into retinal neurons and modulate phase and amplitude of ultrasound energy in time and space domains in order to variously stimulate various retinal neurons, generating neural responses consistent with visual reproduction of intended images.

  • Publication number: 20240058625
Abstract: Present implementations can include a high-precision neural stimulation device with a high voltage ASIC with an array of transmit control cells, a 2D array of ultrasound transducers, and a coupling for interfacing the high voltage ASIC to the 2D array, where the high voltage ASIC is disposed to receive and store programmable voltage levels. A contact lens structure can include the high-precision neural stimulation device and one or more fluid channels at least partially surrounding the high-precision neural stimulation device.
