  • Patent number: 9205464
Abstract: An arrangement and method for mechanical cleaning of an active surface (4,17-20) of an instrument (5) in touch with liquid. The active surface of the instrument is exposed to cleaning media (11), which consists of separate, moving particles, enclosed into an instrument container. The motion of the cleaning media is rotational and achieved and maintained by directing an influx (9) parallel to the direction of motion (8) of the cleaning media. The influx may contain gas, liquid or mixture of gas and liquid. The cleaning media wipes clean the at least one active instrument surface.

  • Publication number: 20130175209
Abstract: A clarifier for attachment with a water treatment facility, the clarifier having inlet means for water coming in from the treatment facility and outlet means for clarified water, and means for removing bottom sludge from the clarification tank. The clarifier is divided into a supply chamber with said inlet means opening thereto, as well as a clarification chamber with said outlet connection opening thereto. Between the chambers is a separating partition, which extends from a top region of the clarifier downward to terminate at a distance from a bottom part of the clarifier for establishing a gap between the partition's lower edge and the bottom part, said chambers being thereby in flow communication with each other.

  • Patent number: 7794598
Abstract: The invention relates to a bioreactor (1) for the purification of waters, said reactor comprising a cross-sectionally essentially circular or elliptical tank section (2) provided with inlet means (5) for water to be purified and outlet means (6) for purified water. The tank holds thereinside carrier material (3) on which a biofilm may develop. The tank is further provided with means (4) for supplying a fluid which contains a reaction gas required by the purification process, such that the water to be purified develops gas bubbles containing a reaction gas. The tank section is adapted to be essentially full of water during the purification process. The fluid supply means (4) are disposed on the tank wall and the reactor comprises control means for operating the fluid supply means in such a way that a spinning motion of the carrier, the water, and at least some of said reaction-gas bearing bubbles is effected thereby around a rotation centerline passing essentially through the tank's cross-sectional center.

  • Publication number: 20040265988
Abstract: Water-soluble ethers used as octane number enhancers in gasoline are disturbing components in soils and groundwater even in small amounts due to their strong taste and odour. This invention relates to biological purification of gasoline-contaminated soils and groundwater, more specifically to Variovorax strains being able to degrade ethers and their degradation products and to a mixed bacterial population comprising said bacteria. Further this invention relates to a process for bacterial degradation of ethers and their degradation products and to the use of one or more Variovorax strains of the invention in purifying contaminated soil or water.

  • Patent number: 6780317
Abstract: A method of purifying waste water biologically by using three particularly suitable bacteria: Bacillus sp. DT-1, Pseudomonas azelaica, DT-2, and/or Rhizobus sp. DT-5, or mixed populations thereof. The invention further relates to the bacteria and the mixed populations and use thereof in purifying waste water. The invention further relates to a bioreactor including the bacteria.

  • Publication number: 20040040908
Abstract: The invention relates to a spa water circulation system and a method of circulating spa water. The water consumption at a spa as well as at a swimming hall consists of both pool water and grey water, which is mainly shower water. Both waters are purified. The present invention provides an economical solution for purifying both these waters by circulating the waters through two purification systems which are connected to each other and through which even the filter wash waters may be circulated.
