    Abstract: The proposed device for the removal of fuel assemblies and control and safety system cans from the core of a nuclear reactor comprises a hollow bar, wherein there is installed a main grip adapted for axial movement relative to the bar. At the end of the hollow bar, which faces an element to be withdrawn, there is mounted an auxiliary grip. The internal diameter of the hollow bar is selected so that the latter can envelop the elements being removed from the reactor's core. The length of the bar is selected so that the auxiliary grip can reach the jammed end of an element being withdrawn from the core, while the main grip holds the head of the element.
