  • Publication number: 20030131601
Abstract: The present invention is a combined cycle power plant design increasing output and efficiency of heavily-fired combined cycle plants operating below the maximum output point by allowing the steam temperature to increase as the amount of duct firing is reduced. The cycle design also reduces the installed cost of the overall plant. Making steam temperature a variable in operating the power plant meets the problem of actual operation distancing itself from Carnot efficiency in reduced load or part load conditions.
