Abstract: A nonwoven web, containing at least one first homogeneous layer consisting of a blend of at least one of defibrated natural plant based fibers, individualized natural plant based fibers and staple fibers is provided. The nonwoven web contains no binder, adhesive or thermal bonding fibers and a basis weight of the at least one homogeneous layer is from 20 g/m2 to 100 g/m2. When a weighted average fiber length of the blend is greater than about 4.0 mm, the nonwoven web is a non-dispersible product which does not meet the requirement for dispersibility in accordance with INDA/EDANA GD4, and when a weighted average fiber length of the blend is less than about 4.0 mm, the nonwoven web is a dispersible product as defined in accordance with INDA/EDANA GD4. Methods to prepare the nonwoven web are provided.

Abstract: According to examples described herein computer devices coupled to a network can be automatically configured. Systems information is gathered from a plurality of computer devices by way of one or more of an agent and a scout. This information is standardised and stored in one or more databases. A program function is determined from the standardised information. This program function is used to identify two different sets of computer programs installed on a set of networked computer devices. This configuration is then replaced by a configuration where only a single common computer program is used to perform the program function.

Abstract: A networked computer system comprises a source of usage data relating to usage of software installed on respective computers of the system, and a source of attribute data relating to attributes associated with the computers. A usage engine evaluates usage of the installed software based on the usage data. A mapping engine selects a mapping rule associated with the installed software in dependence on the evaluated usage data and the attribute data and provides an action to take in relation to an item of software in accordance with the selected rule. The action comprises, for at least some installed software, replacement of the software by alternative software selected by the rule.

Data relating to the use of the software is also be obtained and associated with the identification data. Identified software is uninstalled if it complies with a preset criterion. The usage data together with the standardized identifiers may be used to un-install un-used or under used software and licenses cancelled or reallocated. The standardized identifiers may be used to identify if forbidden software is being used and if so to compulsorily un-install the software.

Abstract: A monitoring program is run on a computer to identify a process running on the computer, and, for the identified process, determine whether or not one or more predetermined characteristics of the process complies with respective reference characteristics. This allows the program to automatically distinguish whether the process is likely to be a productive process or a non-productive process. For each characteristic a certainty value is incremented or decremented depending on whether the characteristic complies with the reference characteristic. Examples of characteristics are the time pattern of running of a process and the use of hardware resources by the process. Other characteristics include receiving input from a user and connections to known IP addresses. The monitoring process may be used to control power consumption to detect and run non-productive processes in a low power state.
