  • Publication number: 20230083366
Abstract: Embodiments disclosed herein provide an organic matter processing apparatus and method for the use thereof to convert organic matter into a ground and desiccated product. This can be accomplished using a bucket assembly that can grind, paddle, and heat organic matter contained therein. An air treatment system is provided to treat the air interacting with the organic matter. The processing apparatus is outfitted with sensors and switches that provide feedback data to a processing unit and a safety monitor. The feedback data is used to monitor the operating conditions and the status of various components, as well as control the operation of the processing apparatus. In addition, the feedback data is used to enforce a safety protocol.

  • Publication number: 20230081656
Abstract: Embodiments disclosed herein provide an organic matter processing apparatus and method for the use thereof to convert organic matter into a ground and desiccated product. The organic matter processing apparatus includes a lid assembly that is positioned at the top or head of the processing apparatus and an air treatment system. The lid assembly is operative to open to allow a user to deposit organic matter into the processing apparatus or to remove a removable bucket contained therein. The lid assembly is operative to close and provide an odor containing seal that prevents or substantially mitigates escape of odor. The air treatment system uniformly distributes untreated air through an air treatment chamber to convert the untreated air to treated air, which is exhausted out of the processing apparatus.

  • Publication number: 20230083105
Abstract: Embodiments disclosed herein provide an organic matter processing apparatus and method for the use thereof to convert organic matter into a ground and desiccated product. This can be accomplished using a bucket assembly that can grind, paddle, and heat organic matter contained therein. An algorithm is used to control the conversion of organic input to organic output by progressing through processing states based, in part, on time windows, runtimes, and sensor inputs.

  • Publication number: 20230065538
Abstract: Embodiments disclosed herein provide various systems and methods for obtaining organic matter data related to the processing of food matter and mixed organics in an organic matter processing apparatus. The organic matter data can include, for example, mass values, water content values, timestamps, account numbers, other quantifiable metrics, and other identifying information. The organic matter data can be used according to many different embodiments. For example, in one embodiment, the organic matter data can be provided to a central system that processes the data for use by a third party such as a matter collector or an end user of output produced by the organic matter processing apparatus. In another embodiment, organic matter data can be presented to a user of the organic matter processing apparatus.
