    Abstract: According to the present invention there is provided apparatus for supplying components for insertion into a printed circuit board, which apparatus comprises a component dispenser, the component dispenser having first and second substantially parallel elongate support elements for supporting components at locations spaced-apart along the lengths thereof and structure for allowing relative movement of the first and second support elements both transversely of and parallel to the length of the first support element so that, in use of the apparatus, relative movement of the first and second support elements of the dispenser causes components supported by one of the support elements to be transferred to the other support element and then returned to the one support element at positions which are advanced along the one support element from the previous positions thereof whereby the components may be supplied one by one from the dispenser.

    Abstract: A device for bending a leg of a component inserted on a printed circuit board. The device comprises an anvil (3) connected to one end of a rod (10) rotatably mounted to a frame (8) of the device. The rod (10) is rotatable by a motor (4) via a gear transmission means (6, 7 and 9) and a piston and cylinder arrangement (22 and 23) is provided to pivot a rod (24) to cause the anvil (3) to be raised or lowered with respect to a component leg. The anvil (3) is movable in translation by means of a slider (20) connected to the anvil. The slider is disposed in a drum (16) rotatably mounted on a piston (17) of a piston and cylinder arrangement (21). One arm of a bifurcate member (18) pivotally mounted to an interior face of the drum engages in an aperture in the slider and the other arm rests on the piston rod so that movement of the piston rod causes the slider to move back and forth, rotation of the drum is effected by means of the motor (4) via transmission means.

    Abstract: A guided carriage assembly for photodrafting equipment comprises a carriage and guide means for the carriage wherein the guide means comprises three parallel rails presenting accurately ground horizontally extending straight edges, one of the outermost straight edges lying in a horizontal plane and the other outermost edge and the intermediate edge being inclined to the horizontal in opposite directions, and the carriage assembly comprises two pairs of aligned rollers bearing on the inclined edges and a single roller bearing on the horizontal edge. The arrangement is such that the precision of movement of the carriage is governed substantially entirely by the straightness of the edges. A preferred embodiment comprises two such assemblies one mounted atop the other with the rails of the one extending orthogonally to those of the other whereby to provide an X-Y table.
