    Abstract: A hanging pad or pod is provided as an instrument mounting fixture for marine instruments, in which the pad or pod is suspended from the arch of a pedestal guard such that the instrument is upwardly inclined for easy viewing by presenting navigational data within the arch of the pedestal guard in the line of sight of the helmsman. The proximity of the pad or pod to the helmsman permits data entry within easy reach of the helmsman.
