Abstract: A novel technique automatically stores synchronized group history related to an online group interaction and enables individual group members to later view and access the group history. In an embodiment of the invention, the group history is accessible by group members independently of group interactions at any later time. According to various embodiments of the invention, the group history may be presented in an overview form or a detailed form. With respect to the detailed form, the group history may be presented graphically, such as in an icon timeline or collage, textually, such as in list form, or in any combination of presentation formats. In a further embodiment of the invention, the synchronized group history is writable by group members in addition to being automatically maintained.

During the online group interaction, a user activates an icon, and is enabled to select properties of the saved memory, such as icon color/image for the saved material, what parts of the shared experience to save, etc. For example, the user may want to save all or some of the conversation, music played, scores for a game played, and the pictures viewed during the session, as well as any other portion desired. The saved material may represent a snapshot of the activity at save time, or may comprise a sequence of events up to the point that the material was saved. While saving the selected material, the application displays an animation such as an origami-type animation of a box folding up from a flat sheet.

Abstract: A technique for data replication and propagation allows synchronization of user interfaces on peer machines in a peer-to-peer network. Data binding synchronizes data sources and corresponding UI objects. Further, in an embodiment of the invention, object persistence is utilized to transform changed data source objects to a data stream for propagation via a peer graph record structure. A standard interface such PersistSave is then used in an embodiment of the invention to create and load the propagated object on a peer machine.

Abstract: A method for the manufacture of a titanium dioxide pigment comprises mixing a suspension of titanium dioxide with a reagent formed by reacting concentrated phosphoric acid with aluminium or an aluminium compound at elevated temperature and adding an alkaline compound to the suspension until a pH value of at least 3.5 is achieved. A novel pigment which can be prepared by the method of the invention comprises titanium dioxide, the particles of which have a surface coating of aluminium phosphate in which the molar ratio of aluminium to phosphorus lies in the range 1.8:1 to 1:1.4 Al:P. The pigments prepared according to the invention are useful in the preparation of paper laminates.

Abstract: A method of producing a composite structure consists of winding a resin impregnated filament tow onto a former or formers having surfaces which correspond with a portion of the finished article, removing the fibre sheets from the former or formers, and placing them in a mould which corresponds in shape to that of the complete article, and pressing the fibre within the mould to consolidate the finished article.
