  • Publication number: 20210251572
Abstract: The wearable data collection device includes a processor, a sensor, a digital memory storage, and a battery. There can also be a data transmitter, a data transceiver, and a plurality of switches. The processor, sensor, digital memory storage, and any other electronics can be housed within a sensor module, while the battery is housed within a battery module. The modules are joined to one another to define a sealed unit to be fit in a housing. The housing can be attached by a strap to the user. The switches isolate the battery from the sensor, digital memory storage, the data transmitter, the data transceiver, or other electronic component.

  • Publication number: 20060206403
Abstract: A system for anonymously purchasing goods and services over the Internet comprising customer, issuer, merchant and financial institution computers all linked to a communications system, a money code, and a plurality of software. A money amount is received from a customer and a money code is assigned an associated money value. The financial institution computer receives and stores the money code and associated money value. The customer transmits an order and the money code to a merchant. The merchant receives the order and money code and determines a money amount due for the order. The amount due and the money code are transmitted to the financial institution. The financial institution compares the money amount due to the associated money value, and notifies the merchant of fund availability.

  • Publication number: 20050235384
Abstract: Loblolly pine (Pinus taeda L.) is the most important commercial tree species in the USA harvested for pulp and solid wood products. Increasing the efficiency of chemical pulping may be achieved through the manipulation of genes involved in the lignin biosynthetic pathway. A null allele of cinnamyl alcohol dehydrogenase (CAD) has been discovered in the loblolly pine clone 7-56 which displays altered lignin composition. During identification of single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in the cad gene, a two-base pair adenosine insertion located in exon five and unique to clone 7-56 was discovered. The sequence mutation causes a frame-shift predicted to result in premature termination of the protein. For routine detection of the mutation, a diagnostic assay was developed utilising Template-directed Dye-terminator Incorporation and Fluorescence Polarization detection (FP-TDI).

  • Patent number: 3942905
Abstract: A trepanning tool is adapted to receive attachments for performing boring operations on trepanned holes. The attachments interengage with the trepanning unit to establish a boring diameter concentric with, and adjustable with respect to, the trepanned diameter without removing the trepanning cutter.
