Abstract: A tape dispenser comprises a body supporting a blade having a base, a point and two blade sides extending from the base to the point, and a plate, the plate located in close proximity to the blade, the blade and the plate each extending laterally with respect to the longitudinal axis of the body and to the same side of the body. The point of the blade is in the form of a spike, the cross-section of the spike being less than the cross-section of the blade, and the spike including a free end, the free end of the spike including a tape engaging surface.
