  • Patent number: 8111143
Abstract: An assembly for monitoring an environment includes a RFID tag and a sensing unit. The sensing unit is configured to be activated by a RF signal received by the RFID tag and to sense information regarding an environment.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 29, 2005
Date of Patent: February 7, 2012
    Assignee: Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L.P.

  • Patent number: 7806333
Abstract: A system for tracking RFID tags with a reader device having a plurality of antennas. The antennas are positioned such that portions of at least two of the plurality of antennas physically overlap each other and are in approximately the same plane. A pair of overlapping antennas are also positioned so that an RFID tag is positioned within both signal fields of the pair of overlapping antennas. In addition, the reader device is configured to selectively activate the plurality of overlapping antennas to thereby selectively interrogate one or more of the RFID tags, and the reader device is configured to use the selective interrogation of the one or more RFID tags to track the locations of the RFID tags.

  • Patent number: 7532119
Abstract: A multi-tiered network for gathering detected condition information includes a first tier having first tier nodes and a second tier having a second tier node. The second tier node is operable to receive detected condition information from at least one of the first tier nodes in a substantially autonomous manner. In addition, the second tier node is operable to at least one of store, process, and transmit the detected condition information. The network also includes a third tier having a third tier node configured to receive the detected condition information and to at least one of store and process the detected condition information.

  • Publication number: 20060164932
Abstract: A method performed by a media control unit provides an interactive experience with audiovisual content of a DVD played by a multimedia player and includes: receiving a user-generated signal representative of a response of the user to a first video sequence of the audiovisual content of the DVD presented to the user; in response to the user-generated signal, determining media control signals for communicating to the multimedia device that will result in the multimedia player playing an appropriate video sequence of the audiovisual content of the DVD representing a reply to the user's response; and wirelessly communicating, for receipt by the multimedia device, the determined media control signals, whereby the appropriate video sequence is played in reply to the user's response.

  • Publication number: 20050093374
Abstract: A power control circuit is used to control the power supplied to a circuit from a power source. The power control circuit is operable to connect and disconnect the power source from the circuit. The power control circuit connects the power source to the circuit in response to an externally applied magnetic field.

  • Patent number: 6545632
Abstract: A mobile radar system including Electronic Support Measures (ESM) which is adapted to detect and decode Identify Friend or Foe (IFF) signals. The system includes means for decoding or decrypting received IFF signals. The system uses an Electronic Counter Measure (ECM) transmitter which is adapted to transmit IFF response and interrogation signals. The IFF signals to be transmitted can be encrypted. Integrating IFF means into the ESM and ECM components results in mass and volume savings due to shared use of the transmitting and receiving resources. As the IFF signals are transmitted using ESM antennas, they can be directed towards a particular aircraft, thereby reducing spurious transmissions.
