  • Patent number: 10831703
Abstract: Presenting changes to versioned files. The method can include presenting a first view comprising a plurality of indicators, each of the indicators corresponding to a respective version of a file. A selection of a particular version of a file can be detected. A selection of another version of the file can be detected. In response to the selection of the other version of the file, the versions of the file can be compared to identify differences between the versions. Comparison information based on the differences can be generated. The comparison information can be filtered so that the comparison information fits within a second view having a desired size.

  • Patent number: 10698681
Abstract: Parallel development of a software system having multiple streams is managed. A selected section from a first artifact in a first stream of the multiple streams is removed from a plurality of sections included within the first artifact. A second artifact is created and includes the selected section and does not include at least one other section of the plurality of sections. An annotation, as a computer data structure, is generated and the annotation specifies the first artifact, a range within the first artifact corresponding to the selected section, and the second artifact.

  • Patent number: 9983868
Abstract: A computer-implemented method of controlling version branching within a software configuration management system (SCMS) can include, responsive to a user initiating a check-out operation of a file within the SCMS, identifying the file and a workspace of the user and searching nodes of the repositories of the SCMS for a successor version of the file. When a successor version of the file is located within a node that is within a predetermined distance of the workspace of the user, a notification that the successor version of the file is within the predetermined distance of the workspace of the user can be output. When a successor version of the file is not located within a node within a predetermined distance of the workspace of the user, the file can be checked-out to the workspace of the user.

  • Patent number: 9733931
Abstract: A user input initiating delivery of a first change set to a stream maintained by an artifact management application can be detected. A first set of elements and a first set of elements types associated with the first change set can be identified. A second set of element types that pertain to at least one unit of work identified for the first set of elements can be identified. A second set of elements that are involved in the same unit of work can be identified. A second change set modifying the second set of elements can be identified. A third change set modifying at least one element type can be identified. A change set group can be created and the first change set, the second change set and the third change set can be added to the change set group. The change set group can be delivered to the stream.

  • Patent number: 9665367
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a novel and non-obvious method, system and computer program product for uniform references to artifacts in a software configuration management tool. In one embodiment, a data processing system configured to resolve artifact references can include a software configuration management tool and uniform reference resolution logic coupled to the tool. In this regard, the uniform reference logic can be programmed to resolve a path name to a referenced artifact by processing a uniform reference specifying the referenced artifact.

  • Patent number: 9535687
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention address deficiencies of the art in respect to software configuration management and provide a method, system and apparatus for producing audited builds based on separate class dependency records. In one embodiment, a software configuration management tool can be provided which can include build-audit logic programmed to produce separate configuration records for each target object in a build. Each configuration record can include a direct dependency reference for a corresponding target object. Moreover, each configuration record can include version information for a corresponding target object. Finally, the software configuration management tool can include a versioned object base storing different versions of source files and derived objects built from the source files.
