  • Publication number: 20200178843
Abstract: A method for acquiring oscillometry measurements with an oscillometry measuring system comprises receiving oscillometry measurements, using at least one processor of the oscillometry measuring system, the oscillometry measurements being from at least one oscillometry recording. Parameters are identified in the oscillometry measurements. An objective function(s) is calculated from the parameters of the oscillometry measurements. The objective function(s) is evaluated as a function of at least one predetermined threshold. The oscillometry measurements are accepted or rejected from the evaluating. Oscillometry data is output using the oscillometry measurements if accepted from the evaluating. A system for acquiring oscillometry measurements is also provided.

  • Publication number: 20150119743
    Abstract: An actuator (10, 10?, 10?) is disclosed. The actuator (10, 10?, 10?) is connected to a structural ground (12, 12?, 12?) of a forced oscillation technique device (100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 600, 700, 800, 900, 1000). The actuator (10, 10?, 10?) includes an electrical power source (16, 16?, 16?); a control device (17, 17?, 17?) connected to the electrical power source (16, 16?, 16?); a first portion (14a, 14a?, 14a?) including active material connected to the electrical power source, and a second portion (14b, 14b?, 14b?) including non-active, passive material connected to the first portion (14a, 14a?, 14a?). The first portion (14a, 14a?, 14a?) includes at least one plate-shaped member (18, 18?, 18?). The second portion (14b, 14b?, 14b?) includes a ring member (24, 24?, 24?) connected to and circumscribing a mesh screen (26, 26?, 26?). A forced oscillation technique device (100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 600, 700, 800, 900, 1000) is also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20130133663
Abstract: A respiratory device filter (10) comprises a housing (12) having a mouthpiece (16) and a body (18). The housing (12) defines an inner sidewall (34) and a conical filter (14) is disposed within the housing (12). The conical filter (14) includes a first end that defines an apex (42) and a second end that defines an opening (44). An apex retention member (46) extends from the inner sidewall (34) and is secured to the apex (42) of the conical filter (14).

  • Patent number: 8172765
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of assessing airway variability in airway responsiveness or asthma by measuring the variation of resistance (Rrs) by a forced oscillation technique utilizing either a single or a plurality of input frequencies during a plurality of respiratory cycles of a patient; calculating the statistical variability of the Rrs for the patient; and, correlating the statistical variability of the Rrs of the patient to a standard curve to quantify the degree of asthma of the patient. The invention also enables the effectiveness of a bronchoactive agent to be measured.
