  • Publication number: 20190133554
Abstract: An ultrasound transducer interface pad includes a first substrate layer having a first surface and a second surface. A hydrophilic layer is formed on the first surface of the first substrate, wherein the hydrophilic layer is configured to be hydrated to provide an acoustic coupling between the ultrasound transducer and a patient. The interface pad further includes a second substrate layer having a third surface and a fourth surface. A first adhesive layer is formed on the third surface of the second substrate and configured to adhere to the second surface of the first substrate layer and a second adhesive layer is formed on the fourth surface of the second substrate and configured to adhere to one of: an operational portion of an ultrasound transducer or a patient.

  • Publication number: 20180310912
Abstract: A protective sheath assembly for covering an ultrasound transducer includes a sheath that includes a tubular portion formed of a first flexible material and having a first end and a second end and a planar portion secured to the first end of the tubular portion to close the first end of the tubular portion. The planar portion is formed of a second flexible material that is different from the first flexible material. The second flexible material comprises a substrate layer and an adhesive and/or hydrophilic coating layer formed on at least one surface of the substrate material, such that upon insertion of the ultrasound transducer into the tubular portion, an operating end of the ultrasound transducer engages the adhesive and/or hydrophilic coating layer.
