  • Patent number: 7376049
Abstract: A seismometer comprising a pressure sealed enclosure; an electrical component; an axis mechanics assembly having moving components, the axis mechanics assembly being in electrical communication with the electrical component; and a thermally insulating assembly mechanically supporting and surrounding the axis mechanics assembly for minimizing heat flow from the pressure sealed enclosure to the axis mechanics assembly and for enabling transmission of a seismic signal to the axis mechanics assembly, wherein the pressure sealed enclosure encloses the axis mechanics assembly, the thermally insulating assembly, and the electrical component.

  • Patent number: 6800116
Abstract: Discloses apparatus and method to deaerate and condition bitumen froth obtained from a primary tar sands bitumen extraction process comprising a vessel containing a plurality of inclined plates, called a static deaeration conditioner. The inclined plates of the static deaeration conditioner are substantially equidistantly spaced from each other and are inclined at an angle to the horizontal. The plates form a corresponding plurality of channels there between for the froth to be deaerated to flow along. The declination angle is selected to obtain a gravity induced froth flow rate in the channel that exhibits a lamella effect near laminar flow characteristics, which promotes the creation of a water-enriched froth region near the lower plate of the channel. A braking pump can be provided on an outlet port of the vessel to control the rate of flow through the vessel of the froth to be deaerated and conditioned.

  • Publication number: 20040148294
Abstract: A computerised method for developing real property a land owner, builder, end buyers and a development manager are given participatory roles in the development process wherein returns produced by the development of land and realisation of development rights attaching to land are accesible to the land owner and other profit participants; realisation is not limited to receipt of a return on the land value only through the disposition of the land to a developer, and wherein the development can be carried out on a computer generated model of the land together with any improvements thereon and official titles to the real property can be issued by relevant authorities and a financial settlement able to occur on the titles prior to commencing and or completing any civil works or construction on the land.

  • Patent number: 6550475
Abstract: An endotracheal tube (1) for selective bronchial occlusion for use in medical and surgical procedures in hospitals, and for on-site post-trauma medical stabilisation procedures, where it is often necessary to intubate the lungs with a view to isolating and occluding one lung and ventilating the other lung, the endotracheal tube (1) having a central channel (5) extending throughout its entire length with an opening at each of opposed distal (3) and proximal (4) ends thereof, the opening at the proximal end of the tube being adapted for connection to a ventilation device and the opening at the distal end comprising a first or distal air vent for venting air into the lungs, the bronchial/tracheal tube having separate spaced apart distal and proximal peripherally inflatable portions (6 and 7) at the distal end of the tube and at a proximal location relative thereto, respectively, and a second or proximal air vent opening (8) in the sidewall of that portion of the tube extending between the distal and proximal inf

  • Patent number: 6147201
Abstract: Isolated DNA encoding allergens of Dermatophagoides (house dust mites) particularly of the species Dermatophagoides farinae and Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus, which are protein allergens or peptides which include at least one epitope of the protein allergen. In particular, DNA encoding two major D. farinae allergens, Der f I and Der f II and DNA encoding a D. pteronyssinus allergen, Der p I. In addition, the proteins or peptides encoded by the isolated DNA, their use as diagnostic and therapeutic reagents and methods of diagnosing and treating sensitivity to house dust mite allergens.
