  • Patent number: 8351075
Abstract: A print mediator includes an interface module which serves as an interface for a document to be submitted for printing. The interface module communicates with an associated printing infrastructure for acquiring color rendering information for a print queue of the printing infrastructure. A reviewing application receives the acquired color rendering information and generates a visual representation of a document to be submitted for printing based thereon. Problems relating to color rendering by the printing infrastructure are detected and proposals for correction are presented to the submitter by the reviewing application. The user can review the proposals and accept or reject them as well as making annotations on the document. An analogous reviewing application is accessed by the print shop operator to review the document and submitter's annotations.

  • Publication number: 20090195810
Abstract: Disclosed are methods of controlling operation of a printer, apparatus and computer-readable medium. The embodiments control operation of a printer by receiving a print command from a user, in response to the received print command, displaying to a user a print user interface including selectable editing settings, the selectable editing settings including settings for varying attributes of a document to be printed, the editing settings for varying formatting of the document to enhance editing by hand of the printed document; receiving from a user a selection of the editing settings; and controlling printing of the document to print on the printer by varying formatting of the document using the selected editing settings.

  • Publication number: 20070216776
Abstract: A method for absolute color image reproduction comprises an image capture device, wherein the image capture device captures scene image data and associated scene viewing environment data. The scene viewing environment data are transformed into color appearance model profile (CAMP) viewing parameters. The scene image data and the CAMP viewing parameters are input into a color management system. The color management system utilizes the scene image data and the CAMP viewing parameters to output from an image output device a color reproduced image.

  • Publication number: 20050174591
Abstract: A system and method of offering photofinishing services involves receiving an exposed photographic film from a customer; developing and scanning the film to produce a digital image; displaying examples of a plurality of looks on a color display medium to a customer; receiving a selection of a preferred look from the customer; and applying the selected look to the digital image to produce a processed digital image having the preferred look.

  • Publication number: 20050093879
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a system that produces a characterization target for an existing input/output device using fixed control values and dynamically created control values. The fixed control values are chosen from the existing device color space and provide a sample of the gamut of the device. Important colors are dynamically chosen from a number of different sources including user selections, device target measurements and visual neutrals, and dynamically converted into corresponding colorimetric values. An existing characterization associated with the existing device is used to dynamically convert the colorimetric values into the dynamic control values. The fixed and dynamic control values are used to generate the target. The color patches of the target can be arranged to reduce errors in target reproduction and to allow visual confirmation of the target. The target can then be output, measured and used to characterize the device.
