  • Patent number: 4629830
Abstract: For the purpose of averting overloads in a telephone exchange system which comprises information-processing sequential logic systems and overload averting circuits, seizures are counted by the counter according to their respective significance or weighting. Different weightings are stored in memory elements to indicate different types of seizures for a subscriber call such as, for example, a call set up over an incoming trunk line, a call completion from a pulse code modulation switching matrix network over a line trunk group to the selected subscriber and the like which produce different degrees of traffic load for a central control unit or a group control unit. The overall traffic load measurement takes the traffic load to be anticipated with each individual seizure into consideration. Particular application as the group control unit is provided because the balancing effect of statistical averaging is substantially eliminated.

  • Patent number: 4626624
Abstract: In order to avert overloads of control units for groups of subscriber-associated or call-associated switching devices, the data required for such purpose and pertaining to the traffic load are respectively acquired within one of such groups. These data are the occurring occupations of calling subscribers. A respective counter, provided per group, is incremented with such data, the counter being continuously deincremented, cyclically, and transmitting an overload signal upon attaining a limiting value. Occupations that directly lead to the formation of the overload signal are rejected. Therefore a prophetic overload defense is provided.

  • Patent number: 4626625
Abstract: For the purpose of averting overloads at control units for groups of subscriber-associated or call-associated switch devices, a counter is incremented with every occupation and deincremented cyclically. The counter emits an overload signal upon the attainment of a limiting value, the overload signal being forwarded to that switch device or being assigned in a memory shared by the switch device to that switch device from which the occupation signal that leads to the immediate attainment of the limiting value in the counter has arrived. The overload signal is formed in the time between occupation and the first selection character, leads to the emission of a corresponding audible character (busy signal) and prevents the acceptance of selection characters.

  • Patent number: 4613729
Abstract: In a telephone exchange system comprising information-processing sequential logic systems and apparatus for averting overloads, a measuring device continuously identifies the loadability for a central control unit. The measuring device counts the respective number of line seizures over relatively long time intervals amounting, for example, to seconds. A high or, respectively, low tally result in comparison to a prescribed constant value indicates that the loadability is higher or, respectively, lower than the actual load at that moment. A quotient consisting of the tally result divided by a constant value that is formed in a comparison device is supplied as a significance or weighting to a counter and is stored therein in a memory. The counter is incremented at each seizure by a number of steps corresponding to the weighting and is deincremented with pulses having a constant chronological spacing.

  • Patent number: 4564725
Abstract: In a telephone exchange system comprising information-processing sequential logic systems and devices for averting overloads, the group processor requests which occur for the incoming through-connections are rejected first given a necessity of an overload defense system and with an overload of a first degree, the request being the through-connection request to be executed, respectively, once incoming and once outgoing (with reference to the respectively-employed subscriber line or trunk or, respectively, corresponding channels) over line trunk groups per connection. Requests by group control unit for outgoing through-connections are likewise rejected only given an overload of a second degree. Discrimination of the two overload levels is provided by way of a counter.
