  • Patent number: 10337491
Abstract: A wind turbine is provided, having a nacelle, and having a rotor that has at least two rotor blades. The rotor blades each have a rotor blade root, at least one metallic conductor, for conducting a lightning strike, and connected thereto, provided in the region of a rotor blade root, have a conducting ring. In addition, a lightning protection unit is fastened to the non-rotating part of the nacelle in such a manner that the lightning protection unit lies on the ring. The lightning protection unit has two rollers and a lightning rod, a free end of the lightning rod being separated from an outer end of the rollers by a distance that defines a spark gap.

  • Patent number: 9645034
Abstract: The present invention concerns a method of operating a wind power installation, wherein the wind power installation has an aerodynamic rotor in the form of a horizontal-axis rotor having a hub with at least one rotor blade, and provided on the rotor is at least one load measuring means for detecting a wind loading on the rotor, the method includes the steps: rotating the rotor of the wind power installation without or with a slight wind loading for calibration of the load measuring means and in that case recording a load measurement with the load measuring means, and calibrating the load measuring means based on the load measurement and previously known weight forces occurring at the rotor.

  • Patent number: 9518561
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for operating a wind turbine comprising an aerodynamic rotor that has at least one rotor blade. Said method comprises the steps of operating the wind turbine at an operating point that depends on the wind speed, detecting an operating parameter of the operating point, comparing the detected operating parameter with a predetermined reference quantity, and heating the at least one rotor blade when the detected operating parameter exceeds a predetermined variation from the reference quantity, the operation of the wind turbine being continued.
