Patent number: 6412500Abstract: A device for cleaning semiconductor wafers with a cleaning liquid, includes a cleaning station with a plurality of rotating pairs of rollers which are arranged one behind another and to which the cleaning liquid is applied. Each pair of rollers is formed by a top roller and a bottom roller, and the semiconductor wafer is conveyed between the pairs of rollers. There is also a conveyor means for conveying the semiconductor wafer to and from the cleaning station. The conveyor means has a film of conveyor liquid which is provided by the conveyor and on which the semiconductor wafer is conveyed. A supplying container provides the cleaning liquid to the top rollers in the form of a falling liquid which migrates over the rollers. There is also a method for cleaning semiconductor wafers in which such a device is used.Type: GrantFiled: January 7, 2000Date of Patent: July 2, 2002Assignee: Wacker Siltronic Gesellschaft für Halbleitermaterialien AGInventors: Roland Brunner, Franz Sollinger, Hans-Joachim Luthe, Georg-Friedrich Hohl

Patent number: 6385717Abstract: A variety of applications do not require a high data throughput. The standardization of the interface in the field of smart cards fixes the processing width at 1 bit. Therefore, it is effective to use a programmable structure which operates with a data width of one bit. A data processing arrangement in the form of a 1-chip implementation with a processing width of 1 bit can be used in chip cards for simple control and automation functions while utilizing serial protocols. This structure features uncomplicated circuitry, a small chip surface area, a wide field of application and a low power consumption.Type: GrantFiled: August 17, 1999Date of Patent: May 7, 2002Assignee: U.S. Philips CorporationInventor: Georg-Friedrich Mayer-Lindenberg

Patent number: 6316194Abstract: The invention provides a method for determining whether a test compound binds to a target RNA, the method comprising the steps of: (a) contacting the test compound with a pair of indicator molecules comprising an antimicrobial labelled with a donor group or an acceptor group and the target RNA labelled with a complementary acceptor or donor group, the pair being capable of binding to each other in an orientation that permits the donor group to come into sufficient proximity to the acceptor group to permit fluorescent resonance energy transfer and/or quenching to take place; and (b) measuring the fluorescence of the target RNA and/or the antimicrobial in the presence of the test compound and comparing this value to the fluorescence of a standard.Type: GrantFiled: December 16, 1999Date of Patent: November 13, 2001Assignee: RibotargetsInventors: Jonathan Karn, David Justin Charles Knowles, Alastair Iain Hamilton Murchie, Georg Friedrich Lentzen

Patent number: 5273704Abstract: A method of shaping an extruded section of polymer directly onto the surface edges of a glazing or glass plate. In one embodiment, a rotatable plate member having a plurality of calibrated die cross sections is placed in front of the exit orifice of an extrusion die. The plate member is rotated to obtain, an extruded section having different profile cross sections and the flow rate of the polymer through the die is controlled in response to the position of the plate member so that the amount of polymer being fed corresponds to the respective profile section being extruded. In another embodiment, an obturating slide member is placed in front of an extrusion die exit orifice sized to correspond to the largest desired profile cross section. To produce abrupt changes in profile cross section, the slide is moved quickly at predetermined locations along the path of the extrusion die. To produce a continuous transition between profile sections, the slide is moved slowly during extrusion.Type: GrantFiled: October 2, 1991Date of Patent: December 28, 1993Assignee: Saint-Gobain Vitrage InternationalInventors: Heinz Scholl, Hans-Georg Friedrich, Friedhelm Hammes

Patent number: 4007321Abstract: Particulate olefin polymers are prepared by catalytic polymerization of monoolefins in an auxiliary liquid containing the monomers to be polymerized in dissolved form and the particulate polymer product in suspended form. The reaction mixture is recycled in a loop to which the starting materials are fed and from which the particulate polymer formed is removed. The essential features are (a) that a side stream is branched off from the loop, (b) that the side stream is caused to pass through a separating zone in which particulate olefin polymer is separated by centrifugal acceleration at temperatures and pressures in the same range as present in the loop and (c) that the separated particulate olefin polymer is discharged through flashing means.Type: GrantFiled: February 20, 1975Date of Patent: February 8, 1977Assignee: BASF AktiengesellschaftInventors: Norbert Scholz, Georg Friedrich Vock, Kurt Erdmann, Guenther John, Hans Frielingsdorf, Wolfgang Gruber, Heinz Mueller-Tamm
