  • Publication number: 20020042118
Abstract: This invention pertains to genes coding for phenol-induced proteins Five phenol-induced proteins isolated from Thauera aromatica. Three dominant phenol-induced proteins called F1, F2, and F3 respecitively were purified and sequenced to obtain the enzyme(s) that catalyze the 14CO2:4-hydroxybenzoate isotope exchange reaction and the carboxylation of phenylphosphate. The N-terminal amino acid sequences of these proteins as well as the N-terminus of the phenol-induced proteins (F4 and F5) were also determined.

  • Patent number: 5006055
Abstract: An apparatus for manufacturing an otoplastic. An otoplastic is manufactured directly in the ear of a hearing-impaired person in that a deformable envelope is pulled over a die or over a shell or over an overlayed over-shell. This apparatus is then supplied with flowing otoplastic material between the die and the envelope, being supplied therewith in the ear. The envelope expands and assumes the shape of the auditory canal. After hardening or curing of the otoplastic material in the ear of the hearing-impaired person, the envelope and the die are removed and a module of either an in-the-ear or of a behind-the-ear hearing aid is integrated therewith.

  • Patent number: 4589623
Abstract: The invention relates to a mold for producing a T-shaped hose composed of a main hose having a sidewall with an opening and a secondary hose joined at one end to the sidewall opening of the main hose to form a "T". The mold includes a main mandrel for the main hose having a disk-shaped recess on which the main hose is mountable with its opening in registry with the mandrel recess and a secondary mandrel for the secondary hose having a cylindrical recess adjacent to one end thereof. The secondary mandrel is disengageably secured at the one end thereof to the main mandrel adjacent to the recess thereof, so that the mandrels are arranged in the form of a "T" and cooperate with one another to define an interior mold cavity at the zone of connection. The mold further includes an outer mold part that is mountable on the main hose and the secondary hose after each has been mounted on its respective mandrel parts.
