    Abstract: An apparatus for a machine tool for the automatic generation of a switching signal and for reducing the speed of a tool from the advance feed stroke into the work stroke upon approach of the tool at the workpiece. The invention contemplates mechanism for accelerating the tool opposite to the feed direction or stroke and which upon approaching of the tool at the workpiece is electrically actuated by the switching signal.
