  • Patent number: 5752484
Abstract: The invention relates to a throttle valve device including a housing (4; 54; 54'; 98), a throttle valve spindle (3; 53; 53'; 99) on which a throttle valve (2; 52; 52'; 100) movable in the housing (4; 54; 54'; 98) between a first air passage chamber (62; 62'; 92) and a second such chamber (63; 63'; 103) leading to the vehicle engine is held in at least one closed position (DS), an idling position (MS) and a full-throttle position (VS) and a control unit (11; 61; 61'; 107) having at least one control motor unit (5; 55; 55'; 91) and connected to the throttle valve spindle (3; 53; 53'; 99). The second air passage chamber (63; 63'; 103) is connected to a back-up air control device (2, 3, 8, 9, 10, LHP1; 52, 55, 58, LHP2; 52', 55', 58', LHP3; 95, 102) by which enough air can be fed to the engine in the event of the breakdown of the control motor unit (5; 55; 55'; 91) to allow the vehicle movement.

  • Patent number: 4457278
Abstract: A fuel supply system for a mixture-compressing internal combustion engine employs a controllable differential pressure for the removal of air from a main air duct into a carrier air duct for proportioning the fuel to be used. The fuel system includes a fuel proportioning device and a vane pump for withdrawing a carrier air flow from the main air duct and for transporting the fuel through feed lines to the internal combustion engine. The pressure of the air at the fuel outlet and the differential pressure for fuel proportioning is controlled by a differential pressure valve located in the carrier air duct spaced from the main air duct. The differential pressure valve has a diaphragm dividing the interior of the valve into chambers with one side of the diaphragm acted upon by the air pressure in the carrier duct between the differential pressure valve and the main air duct.

  • Patent number: 4433662
Abstract: a fuel system for mixture-compressing internal combustion engines controls the pressure differential of the extraction air required for proportioning the fuel. The system includes a fuel proportioning device and a vane pump for generating a carrier air stream for transporting the fuel into the suction tube of the internal combustion engine. A control valve constructed as a differential pressure valve influences the air pressure at the fuel outlet area and consequently the differential pressure for fuel proportioning. The throttle point is located in the carrier air channel upstream from the fuel proportioning area. A change in differential pressure adapts the mixture composition for various operating conditions.

  • Patent number: 4154202
Abstract: A fuel quantity distributor in which a continuously operating suction pipe injection device is provided with differential pressure valves corresponding to the number of cylinders arranged about the metering unit. The valves maintain the pressure difference of the fuel constant by the metering unit. The valves have, furthermore, a diaphragm which contacts on one side, the delivered fuel. The other side of the diaphragm is exposed to a control pressure. Each of the differential pressure valves is equipped with one of these diaphragms in the form of a metal diaphragm in the plane of the vave seat. A centering ring with a crushing edge for a seal ring, is located in the distributor housing. The metal diaphragm is fixed relative to the valve seat by this centering ring through the use of a cup spring. The diaphragm, moreover, is located in a carrier within the distributor housing.

  • Patent number: 3936237
Abstract: A membrane-air pump functioning as a tachometer, having a first flow circuit whose pneumatic flow or pressure values serve as speed-dependent guide parameters for control or regulating apparatus. A second flow circuit leads from the pressure or delivery side of the membrane-air pump to the suction side thereof, and in which there is incorporated a flow throttle and a spring-loaded relief pressure valve in series connection with the second flow circuit. Preferably, the flow throttle, as well as the relief pressure valve are adjustable.
