  • Publication number: 20200028039
Abstract: The invention relates to a light emitting device (LED), especially a LED at least partly embedded in transparent or translucent silicone fill, whereby the embedded LED is housed in a white silicone housing. Here and in the following, the wording transparent silicone fill always means a transparent or translucent silicone material. The invention further relates to a method for embedding the LED partly in a white silicone housing on the one hand and partly in transparent silicone fill on the other hand. The invention finally relates to the transparent silicone fill. The inner part of the LED device is at least partly embedded in transparent silicone fill, wherein the at least partly embedded LED device is housed in a white silicone housing comprising a white box silicone. A part of the inner part of the LED device is embedded in the white box silicone.

  • Publication number: 20190094507
Abstract: The invention relates to an optical device and to a headlighting assembly including an optical device. An optical device includes a body of a transparent material arranged to receive light at at least one light input portion. At least a portion of the light is reflected at an outer surface of the body due to total internal reflection. A non-transparent housing is provided to at least partially cover the body. The body is held within the housing by protrusions arranged to abut against the outer surface.

  • Publication number: 20180283644
Abstract: An LED module combines a heat sink portion and an LED arrangement. The heat sink portion is a first part of a multiple part heat sink having at least this first part and a second part. The heat sink portion is not sufficient alone to provide the required cooling for the operation of the LED arrangement so it can be small and low cost. A user can simply replace the LED module as a single unit, without the significant waste and cost of disposing of the full heat sink.

  • Publication number: 20180199402
Abstract: The invention provides an LED lighting device comprising first and second LED arrangements. Each LED arrangement is positioned on a respective substrate portion so as to form a respective LED module, where each LED arrangement is positioned on its substrate portion so as to be substantially within a single side of a substrate portions surface. The LED modules are arranged such that the first and second LED arrangements are positioned to run alongside one another, such that the positive pole (e.g. the anode) of each LED arrangement is positioned at a same first end and the negative pole (e.g. the cathode) of each LED arrangement is positioned a same second end.

  • Publication number: 20110233049
Abstract: The invention relates to a device (10) for sputtering at least one selected materialonto a substrate (5) and bringing about a reaction of this material, comprising a vacuum chamber (11), in which a substrate holder (12) is arranged, at least one magnetron sputtering mechanism (15), which is arranged in a workstation close to the substrate holder (12) and which has a target of the selected material which is suitable for producing a first plasma for sputtering at least one material onto the substrate (5), as well as a secondary plasma mechanism (16) for producing a secondary plasma, which is arranged in the workstation close to the magnetron sputtering mechanism (15) and close to the substrate holder (12), the sputtering mechanism (15) and the secondary plasma mechanism (16) forming a sputtering zone and an activation zone.

  • Publication number: 20110187256
Abstract: A three way lighting unit is provided for insertion in a lighting socket. The unit includes first and second lamps for selectively providing either wider area illumination of a first intensity and/or narrower area illumination of a second intensity. The first intensity is a lower intensity and the second intensity is a higher intensity in response to a concurrent energizing of the first and second lamps by a three-way switch.

  • Patent number: 7345427
Abstract: The invention relates to a non-automotive-headlight lamp (1) comprising a lighting element (3) and a transparent bulb (2), which is at least partly equipped with an interference coating (4) for e.g. changing the color or color temperature of the lamp (1), and to a lighting unit (15) comprising such a lamp (1) being mounted in a reflector (12). But the invention is also related to lighting units (15) where the interference coating (4) is not applied to the lamp (1) but to the reflector (12). In these lamps (1) or lighting units (15) light components (8) not appropriately filtered by the interference coating (4) lead to undesired wavelengths in the illumination beam and/or to a compromised color uniformity of the beam. Such light components (8) may stem from missing or insufficient filters on part of the lamp (1), from non-normal incidence of the rays (8) on the filter (4), and, in reflectors (12) with interference coating (4), from direct light (8) not hitting the reflector (12).

  • Publication number: 20070040509
Abstract: An electric lamp has an outer lamp envelope (1) enclosing a light-transmitting inner lamp vessel (2) in a gastight manner. A light source (3) is arranged in the inner lamp vessel. An optical interference film (4) is provided on at least part of an inner surface of the outer lamp envelope or on at least part of an outer surface of the inner lamp vessel. The optical interference film comprises a plurality of alternating high and low refractive index layers, the material of the high refractive index layer comprising substantially zirconium oxide. Preferably, the ratio of the volume Vilv of the inner lamp vessel to the volume Vole outer lamp envelope (1) is: Vilv/Vole?0.5, preferably ?0.25.

  • Publication number: 20060273725
Abstract: An electric lamp has a light-transmitting lamp vessel (1) with a curved vessel portion (11) accommodating an elongated light source (2). Part of the curved vessel portion is provided with an optical interference film (5) of which the thickness differs locally. The interference film is thicker at locations on the curved vessel portion substantially parallel to the source axis as compared to other locations on the curved vessel portion. A method of depositing a layer of a material on a such an electric lamp, includes the steps of: moving the lamp vessel past sources of deposition material while simultaneously rotating the lamp vessel along its vessel axis, locally shielding the lamp vessel to locally reduce the thickness of the deposited material on the lamp vessel, the shielding means being provided in the vicinity of the lamp vessel and rotating at substantially the same speed as the lamp vessel.
