  • Patent number: 11116242
Abstract: The invention relates to methods for preparing a beverage comprising at least 2 g/L ?-glucan, wherein said ?-glucans have an average molecular weight in the range of 80 to 200 kDa. The methods involve mashing barley kernels comprising at least 10% ?-glucans and having a ratio of DP3/DP4 in said ?-glucan of at least 3 in the presence of ?-amylase and endo-1,3(4)-?-glucanase activity. The beverages have a viscosity providing a good mouth-feel, and at the same time they comprise ?-glucans, which are able to aid in lowering LDL cholesterol levels. The beverages are generally stable and can be stored for months at room temperature without a significant decrease in ?-glucan content.

  • Publication number: 20210235727
Abstract: The present invention relates to the field of beverages or beverage bases, in particular to the field of health beverages. The beverage or beverage base is produced by preparing an aqueous extract of unmalted cereal grains. Fermenting the aqueous extract by cold contact fermentation and/or with inactivated yeast to obtain a fermented aqueous extract. The aqueous extract or fermented aqueous extract is then mixed with a juice, to obtain an alcohol free or low alcohol beverage or beverage base with desirable ingredients.

  • Patent number: 4845897
Abstract: A grinding machine for grinding or rasping of the back of tread rubber (20 for retreading rubber tires comprises a conveyor belt (1) carrying the rubber item (2) in under a grinding roller (3) assisted by one-sidedly rotating rollers (4,5). Under the grinding roller (3) the conveyor belt is supported by a table (14) resting on a bellows cylinder (13), said table (14) carrying support means comprising blocks (30) resting on a hose (28) under pressure. On the convex top side (38) of each block rests a fish-plate (32), the top side (34) of which supports the conveyor belt (1) immediately under the grinding roller (3). The fish-plates (32) may individually adapt themselves to the shape of the rubber item (2) during the grinding process.

  • Patent number: 4679354
Abstract: A grinding machine for the grinding or rasping of rubber items having a conveyor belt (1) which feeds the rubber items in under a grinding cylinder (3). Under the conveyor belt (1) in the area under the grinding cylinder (3), at a distance from and freely moveable--within determined limits--there is mounted a support surface (14) which seeks to press the surface (14) in the direction towards the grinding cylinder (3). The support can be, for example, of one or more bellows cylinders (13) which provide central support for the surface (14). The pressure in the bellows cylinder is formed by compressed air from a compressed-air pipe (23) with a substantially constant pressure. Under the conveyor belt a pivotably mounted (7) guide plate (6) is provided, the one side of which is linked to the support surface (14) via a hemispherical surface (12), which, via a strap or an angle piece (9), is secured to the support surface (14).
