  • Patent number: 7246638
Abstract: A filling device for a writing instrument has a reservoir positioned in a housing (for a refillable liquid. A wick-like section of a writing tip exposed on one end of the housing projects into this reservoir. A filling spout for the liquid is able to be attached to the other end of the housing. A movable dosing cap is provided on the filling spout in order to expose at least one filling opening for supplying the liquid before reaching an end position of the dosing cap.

  • Publication number: 20050069374
Abstract: The present invention relates to a filling device for a writing instrument having a reservoir (6, 6a) positioned in a housing (1; 8, 7) for a refillable liquid. A wick-like section of a writing tip (2) exposed on one end (7) of the housing (1) projects into this reservoir (6), a filling spout (4) for the liquid able to be attached to the other end (8) of the housing (1) and a movable dosing cap (5) being provided on the filling spout (4) in order to expose at least one filling opening (14, 14a, 11) for supplying the liquid before reaching an end position of the dosing cap.

  • Patent number: 5988434
Abstract: An adjustable amount of liquid is reproducibly withdrawn from a container having a pre-chamber in free flow communication with the interior of the container. The pre-chamber is initially filled with an amount of liquid from the container and is in communication with a measuring chamber. The measuring chamber has an adjustably pre-set volume and is in communication with a closeable outlet. Thus, after the amount to be withdrawn from the measuring chamber has been adjusted, discharge of the preset volume is effected through the outlet without the necessity of additional manipulations such as shaking the container or separating the dosage metering part from the container to effect the discharge of a precise amount of liquid.

  • Patent number: 5433545
Abstract: A felt tip pen, marker or liner having a casing, in which a reservoir containing a dry or pasty colored pigment is arranged such that it can be soaked with a liquid dissolving and absorbing the colored pigment. A wick like connecting element capable of capillary action penetrates both ends of the reservoir and is in contact with the dry or pasty colored pigment. The rear end of the wick like connecting element is in contact with a supply of liquid. The liquid is drawn through the wick like element by capillary action and the dry or pasty colored pigment is dissolved and mixed with the liquid as the liquid is drawn through the wick like element. The resulting writing material is drawn to the front end of the wick like connecting element and is deposited in a writing material reservoir. A writing tip capable of capillary action is arranged such that it is in contact with the writing material supply. The writing material is drawn though the writing tip by capillary action.

  • Patent number: 5145272
Abstract: A writing instrument includes a reservoir, a barrel in which the reservoir is received for a longitudinal displacement between a retracted position and a writing position, a push button for actuating the reservoir, and a shift device for moving the reservoir between the positions in which the reservoir is latchable with spring biasing. The shift device has a controlling curved portion arranged fixedly in the barrel and a movable actuating device, the actuating device including the push button and at least one elastically deflectable shift rod arranged to latch with the insert and unlatch from the latter so that latching and unlatching movements of the shift rod are associated with different planes.

  • Patent number: 5026189
Abstract: A writing utensil, in particular a fibre pen, marking pen or liner with two optionally usable, different writing tips is provided which are disposed at the same end of the writing utensil and nested into each other and can thus be jointly supplied by a writing material reservoir.

  • Patent number: 4999017
Abstract: A writing utensil for three different leads is provided in which due to the use of a special front part and a pusher housing being easily insertable into the same, a conventional writing utensil with only one lead can be converted in a simple and robust fashion to a three-color writing utensil. The pusher housing loosely inserted into the shaft housing, which supports the leads, has a profiled contour and can tilt freely into one of several predetermined tilting positions under the effect of gravity and as a function of the rotary position of the shaft housing in order to bring a selected lead into a ready position from which it can be displaced into the writing position.
