    Abstract: This invention is directed to a preparation useful on dairy animals. More specifically, this invention is directed to a preparation for the disinfection of teats and the care of udders of dairy animals which comprises:(a) from about 84.4 to 91.6 percent by weight, based upon the weight of the total preparation, of deionized water;(b) from about 3 to 5 percent by weight, based upon the weight of the total preparation, of glycerin;(c) from about 3 to 5 percent by weight, based upon the weight of the total preparation, of paraffin oil;(d) from about 1 to 2.5 percent by weight, based upon the weight of the total preparation, of saturated C.sub.16 -C.sub.18 -fatty alcohols;(e) from about 0.4 to 0.6 percent by weight, based upon the weight of the total preparation, of an iodine complex with disinfecting action,wherein the content of active iodine is from about 800 to 1200 ppm and the viscosity is from about 25 to 35 sec. as measured at 20.degree. C. in a Ford beaker with a 4 mm nozzle.
