  • Patent number: 10767554
Abstract: A turbine for an exhaust gas turbocharger has a housing with two exhaust gas volutes, between which a separating wall is provided and which have a common waste-gate opening. The turbine housing is equipped with a linear valve, which has a valve element and a displacement shaft for actuating the valve element. The displacement shaft of the linear valve is led through the separating wall in a separating wall plane and, in the direction of the shaft longitudinal axis of the linear valve, is movably arranged in the separating wall. The valve element is arranged in a separating wall cutout between the exhaust gas volutes and is led out of the area of the exhaust gas volutes in the direction toward the waste-gate opening, toward a valve seat which is formed on the inner side of the waste-gate opening, facing the exhaust gas volutes.

  • Publication number: 20100090148
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for the production of flap mechanisms in air distribution pipes of combustion engines, wherein the flap mechanisms essentially comprise a frame and a flap rotatably mounted within the frame. To fulfill the demands in regard to the tolerances of the components, the frame and the flap is molded with an injection molding tool out of the same material, such that the flap is placed securely into the frame after the injection molding process. In a further operation, bearings are inserted between frame and bearings.

  • Patent number: 6338330
Abstract: An apparatus for moving a valve flap, especially in the air intake duct of an internal combustion engine, including a vacuum box (20) which executes a longitudinal movement in dependence on the application of a negative pressure or vacuum, and the longitudinal movement of the vacuum box is transmitted via a coupling rod (16) to a traverse rod (15), which in turn is connected to an actuating lever (13) for the valve flap (11). The coupling rod (16) and traverse rod (15) system allows the vacuum box to be arranged in any position relative to the valve flap (11). The apparatus can be simplified further by combining the diaphragm disk (27) with the coupling rod (16) to form a single, integral part. In this case, a force is exerted eccentrically on the vacuum box. The eccentrically exerted force can be compensated by the diaphragm having a shape other than a round contour.

  • Patent number: 5154154
Abstract: An intake device for a mixture-compressing internal-combustion engine has a heating element for heating the injected fuel downstream of an injection nozzle in the intake channel in order to avoid formation of fuel condensate which is harmful in the exhaust emission. The heating elements are configured in plate form and directed at an angle towards the injected fuel jet such that, on one hand, there is a good heating and, on the other hand, there is a low flow resistance by the heating elements. The plate heating element can be integrated in a flush and heat-insulating manner in the wall of the intake channel. By virtue of the low flow resistance which a plate-like heating element arranged obliquely in the fuel/air mixture flow produces, the heating surface can be made larged and consequently a rapid fuel heating can be achieved.

  • Patent number: 4928648
Abstract: For charging the combustion chambers (10) provided with an inlet (14) and an outlet (16) valve of an IC engine of the piston type there is a charger (20) producing a continuous pressure and pumping into a storage space (28). In a way dependent on the ignition frequency of the associated combustion chambers (10) an air control valve (34) is opened and closed which is arranged between the storage space (28) and an inlet duct (36) leading to the inlet valve (14) of these combustion chambers (10). The phase relationship of the valve (34) to the inlet valve (14) may be changed in a way dependent on the required manner of operation of the engine between a position concentrating the air supply from the storage space (28) on the start of inlet and a position concentrating the supply on the end of inlet to such combustion chambers (10), each duct (40) supplying each combustion with non-compressed charge being shut off on the side of the combustion chamber to be supplied.
