  • Patent number: 11750139
Abstract: In a method and system for operating a system having an energy storage device and a resistor, and in order to discharge the energy storage device, an electric power that is constant over time is continuously supplied to the resistor, e.g., during a time period, e.g., until the resistor has practically been fully discharged, the time period, e.g., being greater than the time constant of the temperature rise of the resistor induced by a continuous electric power that is constant over time and supplied to the resistor.

  • Patent number: 10637367
Abstract: A converter system and a method for operating a converter system having block-type energy feedback, in particular, includes: a power inverter that feeds energy back to an AC-voltage supply system, i.e. in particular a first power inverter; a DC/DC transformer having a control unit; and an electric motor, which is able to be fed by a second power inverter. The DC-voltage-side terminal of the second power inverter is connected to a first terminal of the DC/DC transformer 102, and a current-acquisition device for acquiring the current conveyed by the DC/DC transformer to the terminal of the regenerative power inverter on the DC-voltage side is connected to a control unit, e.g., such that the current values acquired by the current-acquisition device are supplied to the control unit.

  • Patent number: 6158430
Abstract: A ventilator system has at least one ventilator unit and a number of docking stations is described. Each docking station is adapted to receive the ventilator unit and comprises a communication interface adapted to be connected to a matching interface on the ventilator unit when the ventilator unit is docked in the docking station. The docking stations are arranged at different treatment sites, and the ventilator unit can be moved between different docking stations when necessary without interrupting the treatment of a patient connected to the ventilator unit. The same ventilator unit can be used throughout a complete treatment of a patient without any need of disconnecting the patient during transports, etc.

  • Patent number: 5902253
Abstract: An arrangement for analyzing body fluids drawn from a living subject has a fluid sample station connectable to the subject for drawing fluid from the subject, a disposable cassette connectable to the fluid sample station for receiving a fluid sample to be analyzed, a sensor unit for analyzing the fluid sample, a cassette store in which a plurality of disposable cassettes are storable and a transfer system for bringing cassettes in the cassette store, one by one, into operative connection with the fluid sample station. A control unit controls the transfer system to bring the respective cassettes into connection with the fluid sample station at a programmable rate.

  • Patent number: 5899860
Abstract: In a method and apparatus for determining the position of a catheter inside the body of a patient, position signals are transmitted between the catheter and a position location unit, located at a distance from the catheter, the position signals are transmitted during a calibration stage from known calibration positions inside the body, or position signals, transmitted by the position location unit, are received at the known calibration positions. A correction function is determined from the difference between the calibration positions derived from the received location signals and the known, true calibration positions, whereupon catheter positions, derived from received position signals, are corrected in subsequent measurement stages according to the correction function.

  • Patent number: 5878744
Abstract: In a ventilator system and a method of operating the ventilator system, the ventilator system has a ventilator and a connection system for connecting the ventilator system to a patient. Parameters for a respiration gas pattern are set on the ventilator. Due to the influence of the connection system on the respiration gas pattern, the generation of the respiration gas pattern needs to be calibrated in order to ensure that the set respiratory gas pattern is delivered to the patient. In order to obtain calibration factors a test gas pulse is generated by an inspiration system before connecting the patient. Measurements of the test gas pulse are made with parameter meters at different locations in the connection system. The parameters for the test gas pulse, as well as the measured parameters are stored in different data sets. By synchronizing and subtracting measured parameter data sets from the set parameter data set, calibration factors are obtained.
