  • Patent number: 7186366
Abstract: A label foil is disclosed that is suitable for in-mold labeling, has a high stiffness, is well suited for cutting and is recyclable. The top layers of the label foil are made of polyethylene. Both top layers have about the same thickness and the core layer has a thickness that is about 5 times to 20 times that of one top layer.

  • Patent number: 6814821
Abstract: A multi-layer elastic flat-shaped article having a predefined shape, consisting of at least two outer layers made of a porous fibrous or filamentous batting, and at least one inner layer, disposed between and adherent to a pair of said at least two outer layers. The inner layer is applied as at least one adhesive skein forming a latticework configuration. The adhesive skein is formed of a thermoplast having elastic properties at room temperature, and being adapted to recover its latticework configuration after tensile loading. The resulting article flat shaped article may be elastically stretched, and return to its original configuration. A preferred method for depositing the thermoplast is a printing process, for example intaglio printing, flexoprinting or screen printing. Nozzles may also be used to extrude hot thermoplast in a pattern defined by a relative movement of the outer layer or layers and the nozzle. The pattern may be continuous or interrupted.

  • Patent number: 6312786
Abstract: The invention concerns a multiple-layer composite sheet and a method of manufacturing such a sheet. The composite sheet comprises a supporting sheet bonded to a “hetero sheet”. The hetero sheet consists of a heterogeneous blend of an elastic thermoplastic fundamental substance that cures semicrystalline or amorphous subsequent to processing and particles of added material distributed therein. The particles can be mixed and extruded along with the fundamental substance although they are heterogeneously bound therein. In the hetero sheet the particles of added material heterogeneously distributed therein are detached, by stretching for example, from the surrounding fundamental substance (2) and the material of the hetero sheet stands up at the many areas of detachment to create a fleecy surface. At least one hetero sheet (20) is enclosed in at least one supporting sheet (10 & 30).

  • Patent number: 5807452
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for attaching wrap-around labels to cylindrical or prismatic containers starting with cutting of a section of a label from a suitable foil material. Then, the label section is shaped or deformed, maximally to the limit of what is reversible for the material being used, at a time immediately prior to the application of the label section onto the exterior of the container. The undulated label section is placed around the exterior of the container so that the edges of the label are overlapping and an adhesion or gluing process is initiated, for example, by reaction and/or heating. Reforming of the shaped or deformed label section is retarded until the label section rests against the exterior of the container along with the permitting the simultaneous progress of the adhesive process to be completed.

  • Patent number: 4857037
Abstract: A portable packing bag made of plastic film for carrying flexible and/or folded products includes rectangular front and rear side panel sections which are (a) joined, one to the other, at their vertical edges to provide lateral side panel sections, (b) joined at their upper edges to provide a top cover section, and (c) initially unconnected at their lower edges to permit the bag to be filled but are thereafter joined at such edges, after filling, to form a completely closed bag. The cover section or gusset has upstanding edges that define a shallow trough at the top of the bag. The bag further includes a handle formed as a U-shaped loop which extends across the cover section and is attached to the opposite inner sides of the upstanding edges of the trough. The handle itself is formed of a pair of substantially equal sections which are joined, to form the U-shaped loop, along a seam at the apex of the loop.
