During a learning cycle, rating fields that indicate the relationship between selected quality parameters of the products and selected setting parameters of the machine are determined and stored. To allow the machine to be controlled by entering the actual target values, i.e. the quality parameters of the products, the set values or set value ranges for at least two selected quality parameters are entered into a control device. The control device then determines at least one set of selected setting parameters on the basis of the stored rating fields, all predetermined quality parameters simultaneously corresponding to the predetermined set values or lying in the predetermine set value ranges.

    Abstract: A method for supplying a selected quantity of gas to the mold of an injection molding machine utilizes two high pressure gas bottles which are connected through a pressure reducing valve to a piston reservoir for receiving a quality of the gas. The piston reservoir is hydraulically powered to supply the gas to a further piston reservoir having a smaller volume which is connected through a valve to the mold. The second piston reservoir is also hydraulically powered for supplying a selected quality of gas under a variable pressure to the mold. Gas from the mold is recycled to both reservoirs in steps.

    Abstract: A process for tempering tools, for use on the form tools of extrusion forming machines. In the injection molding tools there are conduction circuits for a coolant which are connected to ducts for the inflow and backflow of the coolant. Valves (4) control the throughflow of the coolant. There are temperature sensors (5, 6) in the ducts for the inflow and backflow of the coolant. The temperature sensors (5, 6) are connected to a computer (7) which controls the opening and closing times of the valves (4) as a function of a nominal difference fed in between the inflow and backflow temperatures of the coolant. Advantageously, a temperature sensor (3) which is also connected to the computer (7) is provided on the form tool.
