  • Publication number: 20050147093
Abstract: A computer system for configuring firmware for an automation device is disclosed, wherein the firmware includes packets. The computer system includes a database with an image of a data model of the firmware of the automation device, an input device for instantiating entities of the data model; and a processor that generates the packets for implementing the instantiated entities. The database stores a first packet for an alarm, a second packet for instantiating a number of axes, and a third packet for a controller. A first attribute for controller-type-independent packets is associated with the first packet, a second attribute for controller-type-independent axial packets is associated with the second packet, and a third attribute for controller-type-dependent axial packets is associated with the third packet.

  • Patent number: 6892100
Abstract: The invention relates to an open drive regulator and a method for software generation which offers the capability for customer-specific selection of function objects which are compiled separately. The compiled function objects can be preprocessed in the form of a library routines. Based on the instantiated and compiled function objects, the software for the drive regulator is generated or is loaded online for an existing program sequence. It is particularly advantageous that the function objects can be changed by a customer, for example in order to implement a customer-specific functionality.

  • Patent number: 6889097
Abstract: The parameterization information needed in a universal motion controller UMC (description of system variables, alarms, and commands) is generated from a uniform description language via a central converter (U) and distributed to the engineering system (ES1-ES4), run time system (RTS1-RTS4), and output media (AM) for documentation. This ensures the consistency of parameterization data for all system parts. In addition, configuration information (FWK) from technology packets (TP) can be imported into the engineering (ES1-ES4) and run time RTS1-RTS4) systems of the controller.
