  • Patent number: 5138121
Abstract: An auxiliary contact mounting block for electromagnetic switching devices, having a housing comprising two shells, a hook, which is able to mate with a marginal ledge of the switching device while facing the switching device during mounting, and a ratchet, which latches with parts of the switching device in the mounted condition. The ratchet and the hook are premolded as whole pieces on respective ones of the two shells. A bezelled crossbar is premolded in front of the entry slot for the supply leads on the shell with the ratchet so that the entry slot is divided into two entry slots for the supply leads.

  • Patent number: 5038124
Abstract: An electromagnetic switchgear having a housing and a movable magnet part guided in the housing along a direction of motion. A contact bridge carrier is coupled to the movable magnet part and has openings. The housing has projections of different heights which extend through the openings in the contact bridge carrier and into sequential engagement with the movable part, to provide for switching-off with substantially reduced bouncing.

  • Patent number: 4988964
Abstract: In an electromagnetic switchgear with movable contact parts held in a movable contact support and forming, with fixed contact parts, opening and closing contacts, the contact support being elastically connected with the armature in such a way that, with the opening contact welded, an onward movement of the movable magnet part is possible without operation of the closing contact, the yoke of the magnet system is also suspended elastically in its closing direction and this elastic suspension, the elastic connection between the armature and contact support and the elasticity of the movable contact parts are matched to one another in such a way that with the opening contact welded and the magnet system closed, the spring excursions of the armature and yoke are approximately the same.

  • Patent number: 4982060
Abstract: A contact arrangement for an electromagnetic switching apparatus having parallel offset contact bridges which are held in windows of a contact bridge carrier. These contact bridges are prevented from shifting transversely to the direction of force of a contact pressure spring pushing against a spring cup. The contact bridges are connectable to fixed contact parts. The spring cup is adapted to the offset of the contact bridges and has a separating rib for the contact bridges which extends between the two parallel contact bridges, so that mutual contact of the contact bridges with each other is impossible if diagonally opposite contact parts are welded together when the contacts are opened.

  • Patent number: 4956624
Abstract: An auxiliary switch attachment block for electromagnetic switchgear having a hammer head shaped, positive engagement coupling between the contact bridge carrier of the electromagnetic switchgear and the auxiliary switch attachment block in which the subsurfaces of the free legs of the contact bridge carrier to be coupled, which flank the hammer handle, extend at an angle away from the handle beginning at the head, so that a tilting motion of the hammer head shaped formation relative to the other contact bridge carrier is possible.

  • Patent number: 4918414
Abstract: An electromagnetic switching device includes a mechanism to couple the magnet armature with its contact carrier. A plate spring is provided with cylindrical formations in its mid-section as well as on its opposite ends so that the plate spring can bend beyond its elongated state. This prevents the spring tension from being altered by contact with the ends of the opening of the magnet armature and the ends of the supporting slots.

  • Patent number: 4453057
Abstract: A contact arrangement for electric switchgear is disclosed. The contact arrangement comprises a bifurcated offset contact bridge having two contact bridge parts, each of which is inserted into an opening in an actuating contact bridge carrier. Each contact bridge part rests on a first supporting surface of the opening. A spring retainer rests against the contact bridge and a compression spring is mounted between a second surface of the opening and the spring retainer. The spring retainer is guided in the contact bridge carrier against movement transverse to the direction of motion of the carrier. Each end of each contact bridge part is provided with a semicircular contact pad which, when the contact bridge parts are placed adjacent each other, form a bifurcated circular contact pad which engages with corresponding stationary contacts.

  • Patent number: 4139830
Abstract: A remotely-controllable electromagnetic switching apparatus including a housing, a contact bridge carrier disposed within the housing, and means for mechanically latching the contact bridge carrier by locking the contact bridge carrier in an operative switching position by means of a first lever member which is movable into a return-movement region of the contact bridge carrier by means of a spring force and is pivotably coupled to a second lever member. The improvement comprises the lever members comprising toggle levers which are movable into an almost fully-extended, beyond dead-center position for blocking return movement of the contact bridge carrier into the return movement region. At least one of the toggle levers is coupled to and guided by rollers which engage the housing of the switching apparatus.

  • Patent number: 4117428
Abstract: An improved electromagnetic switching apparatus including a housing, a plurality of movable contact bridges mounted on a contact bridge carrier, first fixed contact elements which extend around one end of the contact bridges and are coupled to terminal elements for the first fixed contact elements, and electrically-separated second fixed contact elements disposed at the other end of the contact bridges on both sides thereof. The improvement of the invention comprises the provision of means for selectively electrically connecting the second fixed contact elements to a common terminal element.

  • Patent number: 4117429
Abstract: An electromagnetic switching apparatus including a housing, movable contact elements mounted on a plurality of contact bridges in the housing, electrically-connected fixed contact elements disposed on both sides of the contact bridges adapted for contact and electrical connection with the movable contacts and the contact bridges, and electrical insulation means for interrupting the electrical connection between the fixed contact elements and the contact bridges in two terminal positions of the contact bridge carrier. The improvement comprises at least one end of the contact bridges extending outwardly beyond the area of contact between the movable contacts and the fixed contacts. The electrical insulation means are movably supported in the switching apparatus housing so as to be operatively engageable in at least one position with the extended ends of the contact bridges for interrupting the electrical connection between at least one of the contact bridges and the fixed contact elements.
