  • Patent number: 9736569
Abstract: Retention members for an in-ear headphone include a base portion and a substantially straight flexible finger extending from the base portion. Absent external forces, the flexible finger includes a substantially straight longitudinal axis and a back surface extending from a proximal end portion to a distal end portion and having a plurality of recesses along a length of the back surface. The flexible finger is configured to, during use, bend into a curved shape for disposition under a user's antihelix. In-ear headphones include a shell defining a volume housing an audio driver, a nozzle extending from the shell configured for at least partial insertion into an ear canal, and a flexible retention member coupled to the shell, the flexible finger including a substantially straight longitudinal axis, a back surface, and a concave front surface.

  • Patent number: 9439467
Abstract: Accessory structures for connection to straps of user-wearable accessories include a module, a first strap engagement structure disposed on a first side of the module, and a second strap engagement structure disposed on a second side of the module. The module may comprise at least one of an integral accessory device and an attachment feature configured for attachment to a separate accessory device. The strap engagement structures are configured for connection to straps of a user-wearable accessory. User-wearable accessory systems include such an accessory structure and a user-wearable accessory to which the accessory structure may be connected. Methods include the formation of such an accessory structure. Additional methods include the connection of such an accessory structure to a user-wearable accessory.

  • Publication number: 20110269108
Abstract: In one example, an apparatus for teaching a student to ski or snowboard includes a removably attachable instructor component and a removably attachable student component. The instructor component has a first end and a second end. The first end defines a cavity configured to receive a bottom end of an instructor's ski pole. The first end is configured to be removably secured to the bottom end of the instructor's ski pole. The second end is disposed opposite the first end. The student component is configured to be removably secured to a student's ski or snowboard equipment and is also configured to be removably secured to the second end of the instructor component.

  • Patent number: 5095955
Abstract: To fill receptacles (2) uniformly, without air inclusions and without soiling, the filling material is pressed into the continuously enlarging space between the receptacle bottom and a counter-bottom attached to the end of the filling head (1) facing the receptacle bottom and eccentrically traversed by the outlet opening (17) and at the same time the counter-bottom is rotated relative to the receptacle by the central axis.

  • Patent number: 4195066
Abstract: A method of producing dense shaped articles of pure boron carbide that optionally contain 0.1 to 8% by weight of free carbon in the form of graphite is disclosed involving the steps of homogeneously mixing boron carbide in submicron powder form with small quantities of a carbon containing additive, forming the powder mixture into a shaped green body and then sintering the body in a controlled atmosphere and in the absence of external pressure at a temperature of about 2100.degree.-2200.degree. C. The shaped articles thus obtained are polycrystalline and, insofar as they correspond to the stoichiometric composition B.sub.4 C, single-phase; they have an average grain size of not more than 10 .mu.m, a density of at least 90% of the theoretical density of boron carbide and a flexural strength of at least 300 N/mm.sup.2. The fracture mode of the sintered articles is completely transcrystalline.

  • Patent number: 4107276
Abstract: Process for the manufacture of hexagonal boron nitride which comprises causing a starting material containing an alkali metal boride or an alkaline earth metal boride, preferably a hexa- or dodecaboride, to react with nitrogen at temperatures of at least 900.degree. C and, if desired, up to 2500.degree. C, in the presence of impurities or additives of other boron compounds or compounds of the alkaline earth metals or of carbon compounds. Boron nitride has many uses in various fields, among them, electronics and crucible melting for most non-metallic melts.
