  • Patent number: 11970366
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a handrail disinfecting device for a handrail of a passenger transport installation. The handrail disinfecting device has a plurality of light-emitting diodes that can emit germicidal electromagnetic radiation in the region of their light cone. A pass-through segment of the handrail disinfecting device is divided into at least two sectors and has a carrier having planes that are arranged in the sectors. The light-emitting diodes are arranged on the carrier such that they are oriented according to the planes. In one of the sectors, there are two planes that are arranged in parallel with the longitudinal extension of the pass-through segment and so as to be mutually inclined at an angle of 100° to 160°.

  • Publication number: 20230271811
Abstract: A passenger transport system and a method of operating the same are described. The passenger transport system includes a passenger conveying device, a control unit for controlling an operation of the passenger conveying device, and a disinfecting device for disinfecting a surface to be disinfected on the passenger conveying device. The disinfecting device includes a controller for controlling an operation of the disinfecting device. The control unit of the passenger transport system and the controller of the disinfection device are adapted in such a manner that status signals, which reflect information about a current operation, a current state, and/or a current configuration of the disinfection device, are sent from the controller to the control unit, and the control unit generates control signals taking into account received status signals and transmits them to the controller, wherein the controller controls the operation of the disinfection device taking into account received control signals.

  • Patent number: 11472673
Abstract: A method and a device are described for measuring structural components of a bearing structure of an escalator or moving walkway without specialized personnel having to carry out precise measurements in situ. The method comprises fixing an image recording device on a conveying means of the escalator, removing at least one of the tread units of the escalator in order to enable visual access to structural components beneath it; moving the conveying means together with the image recording device at least over partial areas of a travel path, recording images of the structural components to be measured with the image recording device, and generating a 3D model of at least a partial area of the structural components of the bearing structure based on the recorded images. Using the 3D model experts can then measure dimensions and spatial arrangements of structural components without having to be in person at the actual location.

  • Patent number: 10435276
Abstract: Chain links and a conveyor chain that is highly resilient, in a tensile direction, for a moving walkway, an escalator or a lift. A chain link can include two chain link connector receiving regions arranged at opposing ends for receiving a chain link connector, which mechanically connects two neighboring chain links to one another in such a way that a tensile force can be transmitted therebetween. The chain link can also include a loop closed in a ring shape and surrounding the two chain link connector receiving regions. The loop can be formed with a fiber composite material. The fiber composite material is preferably in the form of a loop-like closed band, in which fibers, such as carbon fibers that can be subjected to high levels of tension, are embedded in an elastomer-matrix material.

Abstract: The invention relates to chain links (52) and a conveyor chain (50), which can be assembled with same and which is highly resilient in a tensile direction, for a moving walkway, an escalator (1) or a lift (90). A chain link has two chain link connector receiving regions (54) arranged at opposing ends of the chain link (52) for receiving a chain link connector (62), which mechanically connects two neighboring chain links (52) to one another in such a way that a tensile force can be transmitted from one chain link to the neighboring chain link. The chain link (52) also has a loop (56) closed in a ring shape and surrounding the two chain link connector receiving regions (54). The loop (56) is formed with a fiber composite material (57). The fiber composite material (57) is preferably in the form of a loop-like closed band, in which fibers (58), such as carbon fibers that can be subjected to high levels of tension, are embedded in an elastomer-matrix material (60).

  • Patent number: 10017361
Abstract: A handrail drive for driving a handrail of a person-transporting device has at least one drive device and at least one counterpressure device. The counterpressure device contains at least one loading device and at least two counterpressure rollers, wherein the handrail can be guided between the drive device and the counterpressure device. The counterpressure rollers load the handrail against the drive device by a pressing force caused by the preloading force of the loading device. At least one flexible pulling element is arranged between the at least one counterpressure roller and the loading device, by which flexible pulling element the preloading force of the loading device can be transferred to the at least one counterpressure roller.

  • Publication number: 20180118521
Abstract: An escalator comprises two deflection regions and a step belt arranged so as to circulate between the deflection regions. The step belt has pivotable steps, the pivoting motions of the which are defined during the circulation by the step rollers and idling rollers arranged on both sides of the steps and rolling on rails. Because of the circulating arrangement of the step belt, there is a forward run used to convey persons and goods and a return run used to return the steps. Instead of two separate return rails per step belt side, a common return rail is used for the idling rollers and the step rollers on each of the two sides of the step belt in the return run.
