  • Patent number: 6406207
Abstract: A pump for discharging doses of liquid, gel-like or viscous substances from a container, having a pump body made of a flexible and elastic material which can be squeezed together to form a suction vacuum and delivers the liquid via an outlet valve, which opens under overpressure. In order to provide a pump of the type mentioned, which is of simple construction and is at the same time self-priming, provision is made for the outlet valve to be configured as a valve plate which closes the pump body at the top, is molded integrally onto the latter, is convex in the delivery direction, and has an incision which forms the valve outlet in the form of a lip seal.

  • Patent number: 6360398
Abstract: Toothbrush having an exchangeable bristle plate which is fastened releasably on a head-side carrier plate of a toothbrush body by a groove/tongue anchorage in conjunction with a press fit of a handle-side end of the bristle plate on an undercut stop of the toothbrush body. The undercut of the stop of the toothbrush body is designed in the form of a round wedge, a round wedge of the bristle plate finally engaging in the undercut when a central, rear elongate tongue is anchored in the groove of the carrier plate. The toothbrush body can be bent, at least in the region of the carrier plate and of a toothbrush neck, in order for the round-wedge securing arrangement of the bristle plate to be levered out.

  • Patent number: 6220773
Abstract: A container for accommodating a fluid, gel-like or pasty medium in a container chamber into which it is possible to dip a brush and which has a removal opening in which there is seated a closure plug which tapers in a stub-like manner into the container chamber and has a through-passage for the introduction of a stem-mounted brush and for stripping the brush when the latter is drawn out of the container chamber, the stem being fastened, by way of an end which is located opposite the brush, on a container head which can be positioned on the removal opening in order for the brush to be stored in the container chamber, it being the case that the container chamber is filled with a breath-freshening oral-hygiene medium into which a brush in the form of an interdental brush for cleaning the spaces between the teeth is inserted in a withdrawable manner.

  • Patent number: 5878920
Abstract: A dispenser for discharging a flowable medium, having an elongate storage container which receives the flowable medium, has an essentially constant inner cross-section, bears a manually actuable, suction-type discharge device at the top and contains a follow-on plunger which forms a base in the storage container and is in close contact with a dischargeable quantity of free-flowing medium. In order to provide a dispenser of the abovementioned type which is of simple construction and is subject to low wear, it is provided that the plunger is made up of a circumferentially closed-cell flexible foam, which has little or no capacity for adhesion, and is provided with a slightly oversized circumferential surface with respect to the inner cross-section of the storage container, with the result that the plunger can slide along the inner wall of the storage container.

  • Patent number: 5522408
Abstract: A hair roller for rolling hair, with a roller core provided with openings or macropores and a selfgripping fabric tape fixed thereto having openings formed by webs on the reverse side of the adhesive fabric tape to permit moisture to escape when wet hair is being dried. The roller core has on its outer wall at least one stud which may be pushed through the open webs of the reverse side of the selfgripping fabric tape.

  • Patent number: 4247001
Abstract: A container whose shell consists of two cup-shaped parts bounding respective compartments of the shell cavity separated from each other by a frangible membrane. A piercing assembly in the compartment of one part includes a blade member extending in a closed loop contiguously adjacent the circumferential wall of the one part and spacers interposed between the blade member and the bottom wall which is resiliently movable inward of the shell cavity for engagement with the spacers whereupon the blade member cuts the membrane.

  • Patent number: 4174035
Abstract: The rims of two plastic cups are heat sealed to each other by means of an interposed, plastic-coated aluminum foil which seals the cavities of the two cups and their contents from each other and constitutes the sole fastening element connecting the cups. At least one integral, plastic piercing thorn projects from the flexible bottom wall in the cavity of one cup, and manual pressure applied to the exposed outer face of the bottom wall may cause the blade to pierce the aluminum foil so that the contents of the two cavities may be mixed and thereafter discharged through a normally plugged spout on one bottom wall.

  • Patent number: 4103772
Abstract: A disposable container for a two-part composition whose plastic shell defines a cavity. A frangible partition of coated aluminum foil divides the cavity into two sealed compartments. A piercing member mounted on a resilient portion of the shell in one compartment has a free end portion transversely directed toward the partition. It pierces the partition when the resilient shell portion is pushed manually inward of the cavity, and the contents in the one compartment may then be pumped into the other compartment by alternatingly pressing and relaxing the resilient shell portion.
