Publication number: 20080235962Abstract: An optical bow sight which can be accessorized with an adjustable range sighting pin or torque and cant compensation or both of these features, but is fully functional without either accessory. The optical sight has a shrouded array of fiber optics sight pins which are removable from the sight housing with their support as a single unit. The sight pins are clad in a metallic glass because of the corrosion resistance of such materials. Light collected over a wide field falls on segments of the sight pin fibers coiled in the housing of the optical unit or falls on a trap which redirects the light onto the fiber segments. A lens may optionally be employed to promote the collection of ambient light, and a shutter or variable size aperture may be provided to control the light reaching the sight pin fibers.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 9, 2008Publication date: October 2, 2008Inventors: Steven C. Sims, George Clark, Scott Eastman, Johathan F. Seil, Greg Winters

Publication number: 20080236556Abstract: Fall away arrow rests for archery bows. The rests have an arm with an arrow-supporting feature and an arm-associated axle which pivots the arm to displace the arrow-supporting feature between a first, arrow-loading position and a second, more elevated, arrow-launching position. The arrow support arm can be adjusted vertically, laterally, and in fore-and-aft directions relative to a riser or other rigid bow component on which the rest is mounted. Radial arms rotatable with the axle and connectable to a buss cable or cable slide by a flexible link rotate the arm to elevate the arrow-supporting feature to its arrow-launching when the bow is drawn and offer further adjustment of the arrow rest operation. A coil spring installed in an axle housing returns the arrow-supporting feature to its first, loading position concomitantly with arrow launch, moving the support out of the path the arrow travels as it leaves the bow.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 9, 2008Publication date: October 2, 2008Inventors: Steven C. Sims, George Clark, Scott Eastman, Johnathan F. Sell, Greg Winters

Patent number: 7422604Abstract: A preloaded intraocular lens injection device includes a retainer for releasably holding an IOL in an unstressed state. The retainer and IOL are removably attached to an injector body and are sealed in the same package for delivery to a surgeon. In an alternate embodiment, the retainer and IOL are coupled together and sealed in one package and the injector body is sealed in a separate package with the surgeon attaching the retainer to the injector body at the time of surgery. To deliver the IOL through the injector body, the retainer is removed from the injector body causing the IOL to release from the retainer and become located in an unstressed state in the injector body. A compressor is moved to the closed position to compress the IOL, the injector tip is inserted through a small incision in an eye and a plunger is advanced to push the IOL through and out the injector body tip and into an eye.Type: GrantFiled: March 31, 2004Date of Patent: September 9, 2008Assignee: Bausch & Lomb IncorporatedInventors: Edward Vaquero, Brian D. Rathert, Thomas M. Heyman, Aaron M. Torp, Martin P. Schooping, Philip L. Bryan, William J. Seyboth, George Clark, Robert J. Egan, Jon P. Cullen

Patent number: 6901441Abstract: The invention relates to an application adapted to run on a client apparatus connectable with a server across a network. The server is adapted to simultaneously share information (ideas) maintained therein with a plurality of heterogeneous clients. The application is able to retrieve ideas from the server and to define new ideas in a manner dependent on the client apparatus platform. The newly defined ideas can then be transmitted to the server for maintenance in a platform-independent manner. At the client, the information is rendered appropriately for that client.Type: GrantFiled: April 13, 2001Date of Patent: May 31, 2005Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Graham Bent, Duncan George Clark, Christopher Edward Sharp
